• Damyang Juknokwon - Juknokwon in Damyang is a bamboo forest nurtured by the town of Damyang. This expansive bamboo forest, covering around 160,000 ㎡, was established in May 2003. • Damyang Metasequoia Road - Damyang Metasequoia-lined Road is renowned as one of Korea’s most picturesque paths. The Metasequoia trees were planted along the road in the early 1970s by the Ministry of Internal Affairs following the reconstruction of National Road 24. Initially, the saplings were just 3 to 4 years old with branches sparsely reaching skyward; today, the trees have grown so tall they seem to obscure the sun.
• Jeonju Hanok Village - Jeonju Hanok Village features approximately 700 exquisite hanok buildings and stands as Korea’s largest and only urban traditional hanok village. The village began in the early 1900s around Gyeonggijeon Shrine, Omokdae, and Jeonjuhyanggyo Confucian Academy, all significant cultural sites. Visitors can experience hanok living by booking a stay in a hanok or visiting the Hanok Life Experience Hall.
• Gyeonggijeon - Gyeonggijeon Shrine, a registered Historic Site, was constructed in 1410 and houses the portrait of King Tae-jo, the founder of the Joseon dynasty. Initially named Eoyongjeon, it was renamed in 1442, during the 24th year of King Sejong the Great. The shrine suffered partial destruction during the Imjin War (1592-1598) and was restored in 1614.
• Jeondong Catholic Church - Jeondong Catholic Cathedral in Jeonju was erected to honor Roman Catholic martyrs of the Joseon dynasty at the very location where they sacrificed their lives. The land was acquired by French Priest Baudenet in 1891 (28th year of King Gojong), but construction of the church commenced in 1908 and concluded in 1914, during the period of Japanese rule in Korea. Originally built just outside Pungnammun Gate, the site of the martyrs, the church was later relocated to its current site for expansion.
• Omokdae and Imokdae - Omokdae is situated atop a steep hill and is one of the locations where Yi Seong-gye (later King Taejo, the first king of the Joseon Dynasty) paused to celebrate his triumph on his return from a battle with Japanese invaders at Hwangsan Mt, Unbong at the close of the Goryeo Era.
