Highlights
  • Tower of David Museum of the History of Jerusalem - Enjoy a stunning panoramic view of Jerusalem’s Old City and start our journey into the rich history of this remarkable city.
  • Jewish Quarter - What is the ancient Jewish connection to Jerusalem? Where is the biblical Jerusalem? In the Jewish Quarter, we will embark on a 3000-year-old story of Jerusalem, bringing it to the present day. Along the way, explore the Roman Cardo ruins, see the Hurva Synagogue, and experience the vibrant energy of the Jewish Quarter.
  • Western Wall - Discover the history of the Temple Mount and the Western Wall. Absorb the atmosphere at this sacred site revered by Jews and non-Jews worldwide. Take time for reflection.

View the exterior of Islam’s third holiest site, the Al Aqsa Mosque, and the oldest standing Islamic structure, the magnificent golden Dome of the Rock. See several ‘shadirvans’ ablution fountains, the Dome of the Chain, and unique 14th-century Mamluk architecture. Access to this site is time-dependent and subject to seasonal changes.
  • Arabic Market - Pause to taste Kanafe, freshly pressed juice, or local coffee at the Arab ‘suq’ or market. (Tastings are at the consumer’s expense.)
  • The Way of the Cross - Via Dolorosa - Walk along this ancient pilgrimage route, following the path of Jesus on his last day. Learn about the Christian connection to Jerusalem, see many famous landmarks, and enjoy the alleys and local atmosphere.
  • Church of the Holy Sepulchre - Immerse yourself in the unique atmosphere, sacred space, and distinctive architecture. Follow the last Stations of the Cross (Via Dolorosa) inside the Church to see Golgotha, the Unction Stone, and the Holy Tomb. We will also visit the Grotto. One of the best tours experienced - Renee was our tour guide for Birthright which included Jerusalem’s old city tour. By far one of the best tour guides I have ever experienced, she was knowledgeable in all of the histories of the different communities and we left Jerusalem feeling like we learned so much. Renee is personable and approachable from simple questions to deep issues and she will not stop until you are satisfied with her answer. Highly recommend, and she’s also an expert in finding shade and pacing us in the hot city.
