CitySightseeing Joburg - Big Red Bus - This was a great tour to do as I had my Elderly Dad (84) in tow. As he was able to sit and listen to the audio commentary.
We did the Soweto tour, which was interesting but was a bit rushed as we were on the last shuttle of the day.
It probably pays to do that leg early as you can get off and join a later shuttle.
We went to purchase tickets at RosebankMall (the ticket office is opposite McDonals), but the shop was closed, and the bus was at the bus stop (outside holiday Inn) ready for boarding. We hopped on, and we were able to purchase tickets onboard.

A safe and convenient way to visit Johannesburg - This tourist bus allows you to have a complete overview of the city of Johannesburg in 2h30. It is the safest way to get around and serves the main neighborhoods and places to visit. Only downside: it only works one way and at Check-out from the Inn, it is not always convenient to return to the Rosebank Check-out Point and do almost the entire tour. If you want to get the most out of the bus in the morning, it’s better to get to its Check-out Point in Rosebank than waiting for it if you live in another area.

Great day in Joburg & Soweto - Red bus tour is a great way to experience a multitude of different attractions in Johannesburg in just 1 day. Free hotel shuttle from Sandton to Rosebank is a welcome bonus. Soweto tour with the amusing DT was a great introduction to an interesting place - if you want more, can always return. The combo ticket is great value for money.

I great way to explore the city and learn of its amazing recent history! Thoroughly recommend for all Jozi visitors! - This is the 2nd time to take this bus tour and I thoroughly enjoyed it again! It’s a very nice and safe way to explore parts of the city I would not normally visit. The commentary is very informative and tells you a “like it is” story of Johannesburg. It’s great they have a kids audio channel as well that surprisingly kept my 6 year old entertained for whole trip. A great trip I would recommend to all Jozi visitors to get a feel for this vibrant and interesting city!

Tour around Joburg and Soweto - An exciting tour it was. The Soweto tour was the one that stood out for me. I loved the tour guide, Mpho. His energy was on another level, and he educated us a lot about Soweto. When I got to Hector Pieterson Museum, I noticed that I had been in that place before, but I never got to appreciate it like I did during this tour. I am happy I chose to do the tour with City Sightseeing Joburg. I recommend them.

Go on this tour! - This was an amazing tour and I hope to add a few bits here I was curious about before going. The bus stops are located in great, public, open areas which all seem safe. If there's one stop I'd be cautious with it would be in the mining district however the rest are fine. The staff are friendly and you're issued your ticket on boarding. There is another staff member present on the bus for any questions you have. Headphones are provided and the information is great. The bus stops, briefly, at points for pictures. There are 4 staff members for the Soweto tour, 2 on the mini bus and you meet 2 more at 2 of the stops. They're friendly and knowledgeable people who take their time to get to know you as well. There were no safety concerns from myself at any point and I really enjoyed the tour which was great value for money for me.

Got a Soweto Gold as a bonus? - Soweto part was so good, highly recommend. We good three different guides at each stop who were all very knowledgeable. Our guide even brought us for a Soweto Gold beer which can only be bought in Soweto.

The guide made the tour meaningful - Our guide DT was great - he was really engaging company and although I had some reservations about touring a place where many local folks are struggling - he helped to make the 2 hour tour very informative and from the point of view of a Soweto resident. He was able to answer all our questions and I felt I got a lot from this 2 hour tour.
