Great tour and great tour guide! - Great tour by Sipho! He was a wealth of information and was kind enough to help me fill a special request to try a kota, a popular street food I was told I must try. I enjoyed the day and especially the ease of pick up and drop off. Thank you!

Reality to be known - The story is of struggle, of resistance, poverty is obvious, but it is the reality that we need to know, and to see the scene, to know closely where Mandela lived, was incredible. My 7-year-old daughter took great advantage of the tour, asked several questions. You might have the option of other languages in the Guide's visit, but the guide was attentive, spoke more slowly so we could follow the narrative.

Understand South Africa's History - This tour delivered MORE than promised. It was an experience, not simply a tour. Nathi was our tour guide for several couples and myself (traveling solo). He taught us so much about the history of South Africa, the importance of each place we visited, and what is happening now in the country. Our questions were answered without judgement and with reassurance that we could ask what was on our minds. The tour of Prison #4, Constitution Hill (clean restrooms), the Old Fort and Soweto were very emotional yet critical in understanding the struggle during and after the Apartheid era. While in Soweto, we stopped at a buffet restaurant for lunch (credit cards accepted) that had choices for vegetarians and vegans, too. The restrooms were clean, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was joyful with some music from Hugh Masikela being played along with other artists, too. After the Nelson Mandela House and the Hector Peterson Memorial Park, we stopped at a small group of street vendors - jewelry, hats, African souvenirs, etc. (again, credit cards accepted). The last stop was 2 hours at the Apartheid Museum, again, an emotional experience, and featuring an exhibit on the life of Archbishop Desmond Tutu. I had read Nelson Mandela's autobiography (Long Walk To Freedom) and several books by Archbishop Desomnd Tutu prior to this tour. These helped me see firsthand where events happened and feel the struggle even more. The company sends pick up time the night before the tour and pick up was on time. Tour time was about 7 hours total. I highly recommend this tour.

Soweto visit - I recently had the privilege of exploring Soweto with Moafrika Tours, and it was truly a day to remember! As we walked through the streets, I was struck by the warmth and resilience of the Soweto community. But what really made the experience stand out was the infectious energy of the traditional dancing. These guys made us feel so welcome and encourage us to dance with them. I couldn't help but join in, feeling the rhythm and joy of the performance. Our guide was phenomenal, sharing poignant stories and insights into Soweto's past, from the struggle against apartheid to the present-day triumphs. Visiting landmarks like the Mandela House and the Hector Pieterson Memorial was a poignant reminder of the area's significance. What struck me most was the sense of community and unity that permeated every aspect of the tour. Moafrika Tours has clearly built strong relationships with the local people, making the experience feel authentic and immersive. I'll always treasure the memories of this special day.

Nice overall - Enjoyed visiting the preschool, seeing the children, and supporting the community. Also enjoyed visiting Mandela house, however wasn’t offered to visit Desmond Tutu’s house like it says in the description.
