Fantastic tour from Banele - Excellent tour with Banele - which had to vary from the published route as the apartheid museum was closed that day. Nevertheless we had a fantastic time from a highly efficient knowledgeable and polite guide in a great air conditioned vehicle. Highly recommended

Fantastic tour - From the first moment Banele picked us up he was a fountain of knowledge and expertise. We had a personalised tour of the key apartheid areas and it was fascinating. The vehicle was great and it was just the right balance of stops. We had a fascinating visit in Soweto including a trip through an illegal settlement. Banele was polite efficient and knowledgeable. It was a perfect tour.

Necessary day trip for appreciating South Africa! - Tsholo was an excellent guide. In addition to seeing the museum and the Soweto sites, he helped us understand from his personal experiences the continued impact of apartheid on South Africa and the challenges for reconciliation. This tour is necessary to fully understand South Africa.

One of the most beautiful and interesting days of our trip to South Africa - It was one of the most interesting and intense moments of our trip to South Africa. Tsholo and Banele, our guides, were an added value to the day; attentive, kind and professional guys, who showed us their land with enthusiasm and passion. We listened to their words and thanks to them we understood a little more the tragic history of apartheid and visited the HectorPieterson memorial. It is not a tour to be taken and experienced lightly, but it is essential to understand and reflect. With our guides we were lucky enough to be able to visit part of the Township on foot and interact with the people who live there. It was an afternoon full of emotions and we are so happy we chose Stephenson Adventures!

Highly Recommended - The scope of the tour corresponded exactly to the description. Everything was very professionally organized. The vehicle was very modern and the tour guide was a very competent local who was able to explain many interesting things. The schedule was very flexible, so you had enough time to look at everything and ask questions. All in all, the tour is absolutely worth the price and gives everyone a unique insight into the Soweto district with all the culture and history that is impressively brought to life through the various attractions (museums, monuments, local people...). Small tip: If you book the tour for one person, you get a private tour, which I didn't realize beforehand, but in retrospect was a really good decision.

Fantastic experience - We were with 2 our children (15 and 18yo) and we wanted to understand the history of SA before embarking on our 3 weeks on the territory. We spent a day and a half with Stephenson adventure, first visiting the Apartheid Museum (1/2 a day) and an entire day in Johannesburg and Soweto. Our guides were Steve and Mo. The experience was amazing. Both Steve and Mo are extremely knowledgeable about their country’s history but they’re also passionate about sharing it with their guests. We learnt so much and understood some of the challenges that SA is facing today. The tour in Soweto with Mo is unforgettable. Definitely an experience that we strongly recommend. Everything that was organized for us was spot on. I found Stephenson Adventures on the net and trusted the reviews and I’m really glad I did. Our experience with them was just fantastic.

Hamblins in JB - Stevo (Aussie nickname )was amazing he was so knowledgeable we could only do a quick 1/2 day tour of JB and into Soweto and onto Mandelas museum before Stevo had to rush us off to airport for our flight back to Australia! But we learned so much would of been great to spend more time in JB and Stevo was the best guide to get!! being the owner of the company, highly recommend. Thank you
