Inspirational - From the moment we made contact with Thiya tours and projects we were made to feel welcome. The guides were amazing and part of the Soweto community. The had the most beautiful relationships with the kids and community members we passed on our tour. The visit to the Hector Peterson Memorial was both confronting and inspiring and the passion the guides showed was incredible. Our lunch was one of the best meals we’ve had in Africa. I would highly recommend taking a tour with Thiya tours & projects.

An eye opening adventure - My guide was amazing! Kind, patient, friendly & extremely knowledgeable. He gave me a true idea of the people of Soweto & beautiful they are. The bicycle ride was a little adventurous as we rode through a shanti town & saw the difficult conditions people live in. The children call out & want to touch you. The guide was also fun & knowledgeable. I only recommend this ride to folks that ride regularly. You ride mountain bikes on gravel & need to be aware on some busy roads.

Outstanding - Amazing, inspiring, humbling and educational tour led by passionate local tour guides who have grown up in the townships. They are determined to have tourism give back to their friends and neighbors and all their tips and donations provided needed toiletries, food and sanitary supplies. We toured around four very different townships in TukTuks and got to eat local food as well as visit the home of Nelson Mandela. Fantastic way for all to learn.
