Interesting and fun - Our bicycle trip through Orlando with our guide Thbo Mzolo was interesting and fun. We learned a lot about the history of apartheid and the Soweto-uprising in 1976. He answered all of our questions and took care of us while cycling (through the left-side-traffic).

Bike tour through Soweto - Bike ride through Soweto. House of Mandela (look inside) house of Desmond Tutu (inhabited so look outside), several neighborhoods and slum, including lunch. Guide Maueza tells a lot, stops so you can take pictures. Takes the time to answer questions. People greet you, kids come to high five. The Chief of the slum goes with you so you can see a property and walk through it. It's a warren of alleys. Impressive and highly recommended.

Just Do This Bike Ride! - I took a 40 minute Uber ride to get over to Soweto to meet my One Day Africa guide and our awesome bike ride turned out to be a "private" tour--just the two of us. Looking back to my time in Johannesburg the bike ride and my visit to the Vilakazi Espresso shop nearby stand out as the most fun I had in Johannesburg. I recommend both!

Soweto Bike Tour - The Soweto bike tour is a great way to see many parts of Soweto you would not otherwise see by foot. Themba was a terrific guide, sharing great insights about the place / history, as well as making sure we were safe as a group on our bikes. There are lots of hills, so be prepared for a workout, alongside taking in the area of Soweto.

Great half day seeing the real Soweto! - We had an amazing half day in Soweto, seeing so much of this vibrant township by single speed bike. Our guide Themba was brilliant, keeping us informed every step of the way, both on the moving history of this part of South Africa, and also on other interesting facts, like the rivalry between the local football teams Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates. Go pirates! 🏴‍☠️ We felt completely safe during the whole tour and got some great photos and videos by bike. This was a much better overview of Soweto than just seeing Vilakazi St, which is very touristy.

Tour never happened due to guides never showing up! - My booking was confirmed via e-mail and shortly after I received the tickets. However, the tour guide never showed up on the day. When we called the guy he just said that they didn’t operate today. Luckily we were able to book with a local guide nearby, otherwise we would’ve driven to Soweto for nothing. I’m still waiting for the refund of my money also! Terrible experience!
