Perfect way to spend a half day in Johannesburg learning about the area and people - Very informative tour of Soweto by a native of Soweto, Thabang. Would recommend taking the tour! Thanang kept the tour very interesting and answered all questions along the way. Felt very safe and got to see things through the eyes of an native, which made the tour more real.

Fantastic tour - We took our tour today with Neo. There was only the two of us, so we had effectively a private tour. Neo was not only knowledgeable, but was highly articulate, friendly and most of all, provided a safe environment for us for our tour. We visited a number of different places where he was able to provide an understanding of past events with an empathetic understanding of how this was likely to impact the people of Soweto.

Authentic and Engaging - Thaibong led our tour and oriented us on the way to Soweto. We went into several neighborhoods and learned about the township. We learned about the student uprising and the tragic death of Hector, a young student. We toured Nelson Mandela’s house which was very inspiring. Thaibong was extremely knowledgeable and grew up and lives in Soweto. He was so authentic and engaging.

Brilliant trip, can't recommend highly enough - What a fantastic experience - Thabang was very knowledgeable, entertaining and charismatic. The whole family loved the trip, including our hard to impress Cheese Boys. Thabang was very accommodating - for example as we had the time he added on a trip to Constitution Hill for us, which we found really interesting. We felt completely safe on the entire tour and Thabang changed our preconceptions about Soweto. The museums we visited were excellent and we found Thabang's stories humbling. We would strongly recommend booking a trip with Thabang to anyone considering going to Soweto and/or spending a day in Johannesburg.

A great learning experience - My mother and I had a great experience with Victor on the Soweto Half-Day Tour. He is a wealth of interesting history and perspective on Soweto and Johannesburg in general. It's like traveling with a professor. He was also very professional and friendly, and we really enjoyed our time with him. Our stops were engaging and thought-provoking, and we always felt very safe. I highly recommend this tour and hope that you get paired with Victor. One recommendation is to make sure you have some cash with you. We made a couple of stops where we wanted to contribute money to some charitable causes, so we had to request Victor bring us to an ATM.

Recommended tours in Johannesburg - Taban's Guided tour gave me a very deep understanding of Soweto. The children listened with great interest. Mr. Taban's English is also easy to listen to. On this tour you will get to know and feel Johannesburg now.
