Desaru Coast serves as a habitat for over 100 bird species. This diverse birdlife includes White-bellied Sea Eagles, Bhraminy Kites, Black-shouldered Kites, Crested Serpent Eagles, Changeable Hawk-Eagle, Collared Kingfisher, White-throated Kingfishers, Common Kingfishers, Blue-throated Bee-eaters, Blue-tailed Bee-eaters, Blue-winged Pittas, Crimson Sunbirds, Ruby-cheeked Sunbirds, Brown-throated Sunbirds, Red Junglefowl, Purple Heron, Grey Heron, Yellow Bittern, Oriental Pied Hornbills, among others. Come join our guided tour with a naturalist who will introduce you to the diverse range of birds. The most opportune time for bird watching is during the early, cooler part of the day, when the birds are at their most active.

The tour accommodates bird enthusiasts of all levels, from beginners to experienced birdwatchers. A birds checklist of Desaru will be provided during the tour. Your knowledgeable guide will assist you in exploring the fascinating variety of Desaru’s avian population.

Birdwatching - Discovered tour from TA but booked directly with Jungewalla as I have done their tours before Our guide Sharool was fantastic. He arrived at our hotel very early but texted us 5 Minutes before pickup time to let us know plate number of van. He provided us with one binocular each and drove us to various spots in Desaru Cove. It was rainy season and there was not an abundance of birds but nevertheless we were impressed by how sharp eye he was helping us to train our binoculars to the direction where he spotted a kingfisher. Highlight of the tour is he found a woodpecker just in front of us and we managed to see her clearly

Unique experience in Desaru - Salam and Nurin- our guides - they were a delight to hang out with. We saw a hornbill, jungle foul and an oriole and many more species of birds . They provide binoculars and the car is comfortable. A memorable experience - one of a kind!

Great for a little tour of Malaysia’s winged friends - Salam was knowledgeable about his winged friends and made fun stories to share with the group. He’s easy going and passionate about nature. It’s a fun colorful excursion!
