Research for the lost time in Kyoto: wonderful ancient music, Koto and Shasimen sang and played by the young artist Aoi. - Seating one afternoon in a cozy house in a Kyoto suburb and listened to the young artist Aio, just twenty years old and a student of the artists at Kabuki Minamiza Theater. She sang ancient Japanese music and played the Koto and Shamisen instruments. The day before we went to the KABUKI performance AKOYA at the MINAMIZA THEATRE in the heart of the ancient Imperial Capital Kyoto. Today in the forlorn suburb Saiin of Kyoto, watching the young artist Aoi playing and singing at her home made us feel as though the time stopped in Kyoto. We see a young generation traveling back to the Heritage and on their research for lost time they are being accompanied and trained by the artists who literally pass down the national treasure to the next generation. We hope that one day Aio will come to play Japanese traditional instruments and sing Japanese ancient music at our Ben Xuan Garden House Theatre, in Hue Vietnam.
