Such a unique experience! - We had an amazing time during the Kendo Experience! Taiji was an awesome instructor and we had a lot of laughs throughout. 10/10, would recommend to everyone interested in a more physical activity based experience!

An Unforgettable Experience! - The Kendo lesson in Okinawa was one of the absolute highlights of our trip! The experience was not only incredibly fun, but also a wonderful introduction to traditional Japanese martial arts and culture. Our instructor Taiji Yamakawa was fantastic—he explained everything clearly in English, making it easy to understand the techniques and philosophy behind Kendo. His passion for the art was contagious, and his encouraging and patient teaching style made the session both engaging and rewarding. It was no surprise to learn that Taiji was a Kendo champion a few years ago! Beyond learning a few of the basic strikes, footwork, and etiquette, we also gained insight into the discipline, focus, and spirit that make Kendo such a revered practice in Japan. It was a full-body workout—challenging, yet exhilarating! We left feeling energized, accomplished, and with a newfound appreciation for this centuries-old martial art. This was unlike anything we’ve ever done before, and my brother-in-law was inspired to continue Kendo for exercise back home. If you're looking for a unique, cultural, fun, and physically engaging experience in Okinawa, we highly recommend booking this experience. Fantastic Experience - Don't hesitate, book it ! - We came to Japan determined to experience the culture. If this is your aim, this is the experience for you. We arrived at the venue, a huge beautiful dojo, not really knowing what to expect of our lesson. We quickly realised that we had Sensei Taiji to ourselves. I should make clear, we have no experience of Kendo, not even the basics. Getting dressed into the do-gi was an experience in itself. Taiji was encouraging and showed patience and humour when he taught us the sport's etiquette and then the basics movements. He is an excellent instructor, demonstrating and explaining clearly as we went along, whilst also making the experience fun and informative. After a little practice, he pitted us against each other, (great fun) and then challenged us individually. Like a pro boxer, he bobbed and weaved, showing true skill. He then demonstrated just how fast a true proficient is. This was a truly amazing and unforgettable experience, informative, energetic and above all, fun. Nothing was too much trouble. Once we had finished, having next to zero Japanese, Taiji booked us a taxi to a local ramen restaurant that he recommended. That was wonderful too. Thank you Taiji for an unforgettable afternoon.

Awesome experience - Such and awesome and interesting experience, had so fun . The kendo teachers would very helpful and full of knowledge which made the class so fun. Would definitely do again . And highly recommend this experience. And any skill level can experience this.

Don't hesitate, just book already! - We had an amazing time! Very informative, a ton of fun and a must have experience! You don't need any special gear, and the dojo was a beautiful setting. As someone with experience teaching and martial arts, it was a well structured class.
