Gorgeous day to be fishing in Juneau! - This was a great experience. My son doesn't like boats, so I found this as a fun thing to do. Kyle, our guide, was amazing, kind, and patient. We got him to ourselves and therefore got to be adventurous with our fishing spot. We didn't catch anything, but knew that was a possibility as I rarely catch things back home :) . We got to hang out on a beach and fish on a sunny, warm day in Alaska... zero complaints. I also liked the hatchery tour and learning more about salmon.

Salmon catching from shore - This was the BEST excursion we did in Alaska. My husband wanted to go salmon fishing however he is very prone to seasickness. I found this opportunity to fish from shore. Sure they show a lot of pictures of people catching fish but doesn't everyone? Well guess what - you really do catch a lot of salmon!!! They should call this salmon catching instead of fishing. My husband caught so many he actually got tired of fishing. These fish put up a good fight and after a dozen or so you get a little tired. There was another family of 3 with us. A father and two sons. This was the first time the sons had been fishing. And again they pulled in one after another. It was a rainy yucky day but all of our rain gear was provided. Overalls, rain jackets and boots. We had the absolute best time! Our guide was excellent as were the owners. I would highly recommend you try this one. Well worth the money.

Great fishing experience - We learned a lot about the salmon life cycle, fishing in general, and had an overall great time. Our guide, Will, was attentive, helpful and dedicated to us having the best fishing experience. Highly recommended!

Chum Fun was Awesome - The guide, Josh, was fantastic. He was very patient with my son, who has cognitive disabilities. He made sure that everyone caught salmon and had a great time. Absolutely recommend.

Great Experience for Kids! - Chum Charters did a great job and it was a great experience! We took two 7-year-old boys and a 13-year-old and they did great helping them out and getting them in the best spot to catch a fish! Amicable and personable staff. It was my son's favorite part of our trip to Alaska!

Just ok…. - We did the salmon shore fishing excursion in Juneau this past week. I called to confirm pick up location 2 days prior. Despite this, Operator was not at the correct spot to pick us up.. when I called she said “sorry my best friend is visiting from out of town”. Really unprofessional.
Also our licenses were supposed to be printed out and rain coats provided. The guides forgot both the licenses and the coats and had to go back and get them at their head quarters.
We were taken fishing on the dock near the salmon hatching farm. We caught no fish. In my opinion this was a very lazy spot… no effort was made to move spots when weren’t catching any fish. Guide used a different fishing lure to fish and he caught a fish….
I thought this was a VERY expensive tour for what it was…..after paying nearly $280 a person for this, there were signs in the van asking for $40 tip per person…
Guides were very friendly. But this was poorly organized. Would not do again.

Chum Fun charters - 0 Stars - The charter company “forgot” our reservation, although it was confirmed that morning, and we were stranded in Juneau. The charter company Chum Fun offered no alternatives and was very rude. Luckily, we stumbled upon Alaska anglers and they saved the day with an Amazing excursion. Viator should be more aware of the charter companies they work with because it does reflect on Viator and its reputation.
