Kigali - Upon arrival, a Musana Tours and Travel guide will greet you at the airport and provide a quick briefing before driving to the Kigali Genocide Museum. The museum visit lasts about 2 hours. Afterward, we will drive towards the Katuna border, a journey of approximately 2 hours through beautiful countryside, rolling hills, and friendly communities. After clearing customs, we will proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park for dinner and an overnight stay.
Kigali Genocide Memorial - The Kigali Genocide Memorial features three permanent exhibitions, the largest of which documents the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. There is also a children’s memorial and an exhibition on the history of genocidal violence worldwide. The education center, gardens, and Genocide Archive of Rwanda offer a meaningful tribute to those who perished and provide a powerful educational experience for visitors.
Gorilla tracking and Rushaga Batwa village walk
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park - Trekking through thick creepers and undergrowth with your ranger guides to find the gorillas can take between half a day to three-quarters of a day, depending on where the gorillas slept the previous night and their mobility that morning. The steeply forested landscape is incredibly dense but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails, allowing access to tourists. You will have one full hour of interaction and photography with the gorillas after finding a group. It is an extraordinary experience to be with these beautiful yet endangered creatures.

Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
Lake Bunyonyi - After breakfast, enjoy a scenic drive with views of the Virunga Mountains towards Uganda’s deepest lake. Upon arrival, we will head directly to a waiting boat cruise and then visit the various islands on the lake, including the iconic Punishment Island.
Lake Bunyonyi - Lake Bunyonyi (“Place of many little birds”) is in southwestern Uganda between Kisoro and Kabale, close to the border with Rwanda. It is believed to be about 900 m (3,000 ft) deep, making it Uganda’s deepest lake and the second deepest in Africa. Towns on its shores include Kyevu and Muko, while its 29 islands include Punishment Island, Bwama, Njuyera, Itambira, Upsidedown, Sharps, Bushara, Kyahugye, and many others. Activities on this island include a boat trip and tour of the 29 islands and their rich history, followed by a hike to view the beautiful islands from the highest point on the lake called “Heaven.”
Hike to Kyabahinga Hill and transfer to Kigali
Lake Bunyonyi - We will wake up at leisure, then embark on the famous Kyabahinga Hill hike. This scenic hike takes you to one of the highest points around Lake Bunyonyi, where you will have a chance to view the lake from a higher elevation and observe the beautiful islands. Afterward, we will head back to the lodge, freshen up, have lunch, and embark on our journey back to Kigali. It is, of course, sad to say goodbye.
