Wonderful! - As soon as we arrived at Nachelle Homestay, Meri welcomed us and made us feel at home. She provided a thorough map of the local area, and wrote down a few Indonesian dishes and phrases in Bahsa that we could use to communicate our food preferences in restaurants. The room is spacious, clean, with a hot shower and our windows looked out to the Sibayak and Sinabung volcanoes. Meri’s homemade pizza was delicious, be sure to order 12 hours in advance to allow her to prepare the dough. Her husband Abdi was an amazing guide and calm driver. He was constantly joking around and making us laugh. He taught us a lot about the volcanic rocks, as well as the healing and nutritional properties of the local flora. When going to Berastagi, make sure to stay at Nachelle home stay as Meri, Abdi, and her family are such kind, caring and thoughtful people who will make your stay and experience memorable and enjoyable!
