First step of this excursion Kairouan, the 4th holy city of Islam and spiritual capital of Tunisia. You will visit the Great Mosque which is the oldest religious building of the Muslim West. Afterwards, you will discover the ‘mausoleum of the barber’ and you will have free time in the medina. You will also have the opportunity to visit the Aghlabid basins, built in the 9th century, to supply the city of Kairouan with drinking water.
