Incredible Day Seeing the Sights!! - We booked this trip as trio of women, wanting to see the local must see sights, without spending hours on a coach doing various hotel pick ups. Following booking this tour, we received a message from Simba Tours the morning before our trip giving us all the information we needed, and advising that we would be provided the contact number for our driver later that day. We were also given access to a number of informative online documents containing details of the history of Tunisia and must see sights. Early that evening, we received our drivers contact number and provided him with the requested details (names, insurances details and contact numbers). We also provided a quick outline of our plan for the day, to advise our driver, Gadour, what we wanted to do. On the day of our trip, we received a message from Gadour telling us he was on his way and he arrived to the hotel early and waited for us at reception until we were ready to set off. On meeting Gadour, he was very friendly and made it clear that we could ask as many questions as we wanted throughout the trip. We confirmed our plans for the day and then set off. Gadour did everything possible to make our journeys as comfortable as possible, including playing music we enjoyed, letting us open/close the windows when we wanted and keeping us updated on journey times. He was also a great driver and took care as he drove with us passengers. At our first stop, Kairouan, he liaised with a local shop keeper to guide us round the area, and up onto a terrace where we got a fantastic view of The Great Mosque, whilst he waited with the car. It was great to have control over what we did when, where we went and how long we spent at each place. Gadour was very patient with us, especially whilst we visited El Jem, where we spent a number of hours. Gadour was in frequent communication with us via WhatsApp and was easily contactable when we were ready to be collected and move on to the next stop. He also pointed out loads of points of interest and told us lots of interesting facts through out the day, and even stopped to buy us some tradional Tunisian bread to try on the way back to our hotel. We could not recommend this trip more highly and had an incredible day, thanks to Gadour.

Really interesting day out which lets you make the most of your time in a safe and comfortable vehicle - Summary: This is a well organised private tour where YOU decide where you're going and are transported to those places in a safe and comfortable manner by a friendly driver who gives basic information but not a guided tour of those sites. If you're interested in more information: Whilst we were on holiday in Port El Kantaoui we were really keen to see some of the rest of Tunisia and decided to book the day tour with Simba after looking at the reviews. The first thing to mention is that this is NOT a guided tour in the sense of your itinerary being set by the company and a tour guide giving you all of the information about the sites: the route is very much set by you and you'll get some useful information the day before and the driver will give you some good information, but you'll generally be left to go around the actual stops on your own. This isn't a bad thing in my opinion! There was good communication from the admin team the day before the trip, asking for information from us for insurance purposes and also putting us in touch with our driver for the day. He messaged and we let him know what we wanted to see and he suggested a route and timings. We set off slightly earlier than we'd originally booked (at his suggestion) to avoid some of the traffic. Hsin arrived on time at our hotel to pick us up, and the car was clean and comfortable. Since it's a private tour there were none of the common issues of squeezing in. I don't know if they use bigger vehicles if there are 4 or 5 of you. We first went to Kairouan to see the Great Mosque. Since it was Ramadan, Kairouan itself was very quiet and so was the mosque. Hsin gave us some information and took us pretty much to the door and left us to it. It was a really interesting place to experience and being able to see into the prayer room (which is HUGE) felt like a privilege to us as non-muslims. Hsin also took some photos of us outside. Once we'd finished at the mosque and wandered around some of the streets, we went back to the car and straight on to El Jem where Hsin took us to the amphitheatre, took some pictures of us outside and also fast tracked some tickets for us (there was a group at the ticket office window where they were buying individually). Again, back to the car afterwards and on to the Archaeological Museum which is well worth a visit. We set off to Sousse and this time Hsin came into the souk with us which was great because it meant we didn't feel targets in the same was as I have done in other souks in the past. It meant that it was actually a really interesting and informative walk around rather than the stressful ones I've had before. There was no pressure to buy anything, or particular stalls where 'arrangements' had been made. We also visited the Rabat on our own and looked around. Finally, Hsin took us back to the car and on to our hotel. We took some food with us so didn't eat at any restaurants during the day (we'd felt that anywhere not just focussing on tourists would be closed anyway, and knew it was already going to be quite a long day). I'm sure that if we had wanted food, Hsin would have recommended somewhere for us. Overall it was a fantastic day out. The information about the Tunisian life from Hsin was just as interesting as the visits themselves. He spoke English (actually better than I think he thinks he does!) and, when there were a few times when he wanted to go into something where he didn't feel he had the vocabulary, used Google Translate to great effect. There was no time when we felt that communication was a barrier.

Colourful, wonderful and breathtaking. - What a fantastic day. Our first experience of the roads was very smooth and quite. The views was something else, what lovely carming landscape. Our host Aymen was excellent very knowledgeable and understanding of the all the questions posed, especially during the time of Ramadan. All the locals we came across were very polite and friendly. Our first stop was El Jem, what a breathtaking view. To stand where gladiators once fought, and to then take a seat to look upon the arena, totally breathtaking. Then our host Aymen took us too Kairouan, where we witnessed the magnificent building of the Great Mosque of Kairouan, followed by a trip to the local rug makers. Finally we arrived at our last stop of the day, Monastir. Where we visited the resting place of Tunisia first President, and then the Presidential Place of Bourguiba. Both Tess and I had a wonderful, colourful day, and with having Aymen as our guide made it all the more special.

Great trip! - There were two of us with Othman. He was really a great driver and totally nice and friendly. He explained a lot to you and always led to the sights. There he always gave you the time you needed to visit. He was happy to respond to individual requests and was also pleased about the interest on our part. I would love to come back!!

Othman is a star ⭐️ - Me and my partner booked this trip last minute after trying to make our own way to El Jem and failing miserably! We both honestly had the best day! Our guide Othman was absolutely brilliant and made us both feel very welcome Visiting El Jem and Monastir was an amazing experience! We also stopped off for a traditional Tunisian lunch which was incredible! Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Tunisia 5* trip!

Best birthday trip! - Me and my mum were picked up on time from our hotel greeted by our very friendly tour guide Ayoub! The vehicle was modern and a very comfortable drive. Ayoub is very knowledgeable of all the places we went and also pointed out important places we passed along the way. Ayoub was also kind enough to escort us through the Medina, where he organised a plate to be engraved for me and gave it to me as a birthday gift! Before each stop he gave us the history of each place and told us what too look out for which was very helpful. The Great Mosque is truly beautiful and the El Jem Amphitheatre is so amazing!!!! We learnt so much! Our tour guide Ayoub even stopped off for us to get some ice cream along the drive. We were so happy with the service, we met up with him later for dinner so we could try traditional Tunisian cuisine! Thank you Simba Tours for organising our trip with Ayoub! And thank you Ayoub for making this trip truly wonderful! Such a lovely way to spend my birthday! I would recommend this trip for everyone - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Great way to see many places in 1 day - I booked this purely to be driven to these places, wasn't looking anything else. My driver was good, got me around, plenty of flexibility. The car wasn't "brand new" though, and air con consisted of a window being rolled down. Which is fine, no major issue, but that is a piece of false advertising. Driver was a really nice guy, had some conversation with him, not proficient in English by any means, but passable. The destinations themselves are must sees when in Tunisia, El Jem especially. I was very happy to be able to pack so much into 1 day. I would recommend the trip for the sites and flexibility
