Excellent boat tour - I highly recommend the Wilsons Vista boat tour! Not only were they on time, but it was all very clean, and the team just great! Super nice and very helpful. One of the staff on the ship had memorized all the passengers’ stopping requests, and is on the way to each one to give tips for hiking or highlights of the respective stop! The captain also told a lot about the sights and the flora and fauna during the trip. And the views of the Tasman NP are simply gigantic. Next time definitely with Wilsons!!

Fantastic three day walk - If you love the scenery and long walks in New Zealand, but are not into camping or freeze dried food, this three day supported trek is just perfect. And unlike some of the other great walks, the Abel Tasman doesn’t include any serious mountain climbs. Some years back we did the one day swing bridge walk with a water taxi drop off and pick up, and based on that decided to return and commit to the whole trek. Based on this experience, the middle section is still the stand out, with the best scenery between Bark Bay and Apple Tree Bay. But we loved it all, and very much enjoyed having our gear taken ahead to the lodges, and then a hot shower, hot meal and a bar and drying room waiting for us after a hard walk. The rooms were lovely, the lodges in very good shape, and the food was much better than we’d expected. Staff were superb and ensured everyone, of all abilities had a good time. (and if you find the walk a bit too much, you can skip a section and take the ferry to the next lodge and have a rest).

Great day trip into the Abel Tasman - We used Wilson’s as a water taxi to hike through the Abel Tasman National Park. They were really slick and professional and very safety conscious. One of the highlights of our trip was finishing our hike on a beautiful beach with crystal clear water and then relaxing as we waited the final hour for the boat, which turned up exactly on time.

A Great day in an great surrounding - Just finished an Abel Tasman National Park tour with our guide Lucy who was a wealth of knowledge about the birds, bees,(Manuka honey) culture, and topography of the park. She made sure the pace we were keeping on the tramp was within our capabilities and we had no worries with her as our guide. “Sweet As”

Abel Tasman is sensational as is Wilson’s - We completed the 3 day guided walk with Phil and Glyn, both were fantastic. Phil in particular was cracking good company and had David Attenborough level knowledge of the things we saw. We saw so many birds and were lucky to see a pod of orca too. The lodges, food and vista cruise were all top notch. Pick Wilson’s for your Abel Tasman cruise/holiday!

Abel Tasman by sea - We went to the Wilson Abel Tasman travel centre in Motueka and we had a wonderful experience with the agent. She booked us on a day trip to the top bay and back again. The ferry stopped at each bay to drop off and pick up people and we just enjoyed seeing each bay and what everyone was doing, we got off at Anchorage on the way back and had three hours to walk to the point and enjoy the beach then they picked us up again on their way back. It was a lovely cruise and they were really nice people. The only thing I would change is to ask more questions at the counter as there looked to be other options that we didn't hear about because we said yes to the first one!!,

A tour that went south. A disappointment. - We were given the wrong information about the address. We were late for the full day Abel Tasman National Park ferry experience. We ended up with a half day experience from 1 to 4.15 pm vs 9.15 to 4.15 pm, a bit disappointing to say the least. We were dropped off for about 2 of the 3+hours on a beach and told we could explore.

Booked a Vista Cruise, received a Vigour Taxi ride - Four months in advance, our travel agent had booked an Abel Tasman Vista (a large catamaran with bar, ample enclosed and top deck open seating, toilets, etc.) cruise described as 5.75 hours of "a cruise in style and comfort along the spectacular granite coast." It was to include a Kiwi BBQ lunch and a "skipper provid(ing) interpretative commentary." When we arrive an hour in advance of our schedule 10:30 am cruise, we were informed that because they were "a bit slow" our cruise had been changed to 3 hours of Taxi rides (jammed in with hikers, campers, and kayakers), a 2 hour solitary lunch, and a .75 hour cruise on the Vista catamaran. Although we confirmed our Vista cruise a day in advance, neither we nor our travel agents had been informed of the significant changes. We had been offered no alternatives or the option of canceling the "Taxi" cruise. Amazingly, Abel Tasman had a 9:15 am Vista Cruise available, that had we been told in advance, we could of joined. The Taxi was cramped, open, cold, and traveled fast. Not the comfort and relaxed pace we expected on the catamaran. We had to wear life jackets the entire three-hour ride going from drop off stop and pick up stop to accommodate the eight other hikers, campers, and kayakers on the small Taxi. To top it all off, after lunch, we had to wade through freezing water along with six kayakers (this is after the original eight had been dropped off) to climb onto a flat boat and ride to the Vista Cruise catamaran for the 45 minute cruise back to port. We no longer had to wear life vests, it was not cramped at all, and had full interpretive commentary. Finally, a comfortable low paced cruise. We were given an adjustment in what we paid, but our agent hasn't disclosed it. There were other cruises/catamaran companies available and we suggest you look into those as we would not recommend Wilsons Abel Tasman. In our opinion, they are unreliable and frankly, out of the ordinary when it comes to the hospitality industry in New Zealand.

Very poor customer service. - We would like to give more stars, but can only give one due poor service and refusing refund of picnic dinners which we newer received on our extended cruise 09:15 on 27’th Dec. with the Vista II. Hence we lost 54NZ$ that day. Travelers from Denmark 🇩🇰

This isn't an informative cruise, it's a water taxi - The vendor's description of this "excursion" on Viator is egregiously misleading. This isn't a nature cruise with live narration. It is quite literally a water taxi that shuttles hikers to different parts of the park. Neither was there any "live" commentary. There were a handful of recordings, but they were barely audible because the speakers were in such disrepair. Sad waste of time.
