Best safari tour ever - Samuel was s fantastic guide. He made the entire day fun. Great driver who found lots of animals up close. He had a,wealth of knowledge about the park. He stopped outside the park so we could get great views of giraffe. Well planned bathroom and snack breaks. The buffet lunch was fantastic

WORTH THE MONEY! - This is a great park to visit. If you wish to see elephant in their droves this is the place to be . To see Mt. Kilimanjaro ensure you visit early morning otherwise you probably won't see it from the observation hill.

Amboseli in one day with Festus !! - We went on this tour on a Wednesday. There was only the two of us. We basically had a private tour. We were met by Festus K. at 5am at our hotel in Nairobi. We drove for 4 hours each way and 6 hours in the Game park. This man was amazing. He was a very good driver. The roads are extremely challenging. tough road conditions in places and high traffic volume. Festus was our game driver and guide. He was so attentive to our needs during the game drives. The vehicle was perfect for viewing and photography. We ate at the Ol Tukai Lodge at lunch.. The meal was unreal and the view was breathtaking. We saw lots of animals . Got some great photos. This is one of the most stunning places I have ever been. Some stay for a few days. I only had one day, so this was the only option , if I wanted to see this game park. I would highly recommend this tour if you only have one day. It was storming in Nairobi and it was beautiful at this park. Ask for Festus.. over the top incredible guide / driver / host

A long day but all worth it!! - An amazing experience at Amboselli where we managed to see all types of animals really up close at certain points. Our driver who goes by the name Black Santa was very knowledgable and shared his experience with us which was very useful.

Unforgettable in the best possible way, just an awesome trip to Amboseli with my lovely guide Kevin. - I received a message at the airport, I had just arrived after a 9 hour flight, and by the time I was through immigration, transferred to the hotel and settled in, it was after midnight. The message read something like “Hello, please could we start our tour a little earlier at 04:30”, yep that was fine! Kevin, my driver and guide was to drive me the 205km to Amboseli National Park, for a 1 day Safari, something I have always wanted to do in Kenya, famous for the big 5 (in some parks) and a selection of other amazing wildlife. The alarm rang, well actually my other half making sure I was up, few. A quick spray of anti-Mossi, anti perspirant and sun run cream then took my anti malarial tablet (just a precaution) and before I knew it, we were off on our adventure. The drive was interesting, I shall say no more other than Kevin was a brilliant driver, handling the Mombasa highway with such expertise, it was an experience to remember, really good fun eh Kevin 😃. We arrived at the Amboseli Gateway just after 08:00, after a refreshment break and leg stretch. Before we even reached the park we spotted a Giraffe and Zebra “milling around”. Al I can say is that my expectations were OVER met time and time again, having heard stories of animals being a bit shy and not showing their face, We saw Giraffe, Elephants, Zebra, Lions , Hippos, Water Buffalo and many others, I lost count of the different species we stumbled across. Kevin’s knowledge was like an encyclopaedia of nature species and habits, it was fascinating to hear. We stopped off for lunch at a local lodge which was surrounded by abundant wildlife, the food was of the highest quality and there was something to suit all but the fussiest of tastes. If I were to say anything it would be book a Safari with Perfect Safaris, you may want a cushion for your rear, it was a long day and the roads are extremely bumpy, it’s amazing value for money, great fun and you will discover animals living in the natural habitat behaving as they should, like the elephant with 5 legs 😜 just completely brilliant, thank-you Kevin for getting me up so early, I am so glad I did.

Very good experience - We took the trip to Amboseli park this week. We left from Nairobi and had a 4 hour drive to the park. Festus Kazungu was our tour guide and driver. He was friendly, knowledgeable and determined to ensure we enjoyed the trip. The animals in the park were amazing! We saw elephants, giraffes, zebras, hippos, impala, ostriches, many different birds. We also saw Mount Kilimanjaro on the way to and from the park in the distance. It was definitely worth the trip. The roads within the park were bumpy but Festus navigated the roads with expertise.

WORST SAFARI EVER: unsafe vehicles; don’t book! - From start to finish this was a terrible trip. After many years of using visitor tours and being satisfied, I can tell you that this was the absolute worst Viator-related experience I’ve ever had. We booked a day tour to Amboseli Park for a Safari with Akoth Safari. The vehicle we were in broke down only four hours into the tour and we had not reached the park yet. The vehicle was old, had no seatbelts, was dirty, and it was no surprise to me that it broke down on the side of the road. It’s not the one advertised that I have added to pictures. After waiting for 45 to 60 minutes , another vehicle from another company came to pick us up, but only after prodding and pushing from my angle. The new driver from a company I still don’t know whom he belonged to, did not establish a rapport with us, and I don’t blame him because he appeared to be just as bewildered as we were as to what was supposed to happen and how we were supposed to get back. We saw very few animals and the driver, although nice enough, was on his phone the whole time I believe trying to figure out what the plan was to get us back. At the end of the Safari tour, we were brought back to a small village (see picture) where we reunited with our original driver and then we again waited for 35 to 45 minutes for another vehicle to pick us up. We were left alone - my wife and I - unattended in a small village. The driver disappeared, but I’m sure he was within a short distance. We were finally summoned to Board a Taxi for the (see colorful vehicle in picture) which was super dirty and unacceptable (as far as the original contract vehicle that we were supposed to have). Note; these vehicles are not recommended for tourists by the US Embassy, although the vehicle appeared to be only for our use. We were dropped off two hours late so our plans for Friday night were tanked. What was very frustrating was that besides the taxi driver going at an insane speed and being unsafe weaving in and out of traffic, the original Tour Guide and driver kept laughing and saying “This is Africa.” This was also $600 plus. Needless to say we were not pleased. It would’ve been one thing if the owner of the company or the manager had called us that day or the day after even to express his apologies. However, it took much prompting from me to get his email from the company to explain to him that we were not satisfied. That we wished to reach a settlement or at least some kind of reimbursement. Eventually he came up on the net and weakly apologized, which I accepted, and offered a free ride to the airport or a lunch ($50). However, we had already left Kenya am- after much back-and-forth. I finally told him that if he was not willing to reach settlement of any means, then I would just have to pursue reimbursement by some other means with my credit card company. This was absolutely the worst experience I’ve ever had through a Viator tour. I do not recommend this company whatsoever. I find that their communications throughout the whole ordeal was unacceptable and almost nonexistent. If it had been for Susan, the contact person who I was dealing with throughout, we would’ve not had any idea what was happening along the way, so kudos to her. But for Mr. Mumba, the director or manager or owner of the company (he was pleasant enough) he only came up on correspondence after four days and would not talk on phone even though I asked if we could talk by phone. He refused to offer any reimbursement, and anything else except for an apology. The world moves on…however, I would recommend if you were doing a Safari in Africa and Kenya specifically do not use this company because you will not move anywhere. Akoth Safari it is called.
