Best way to introduce Georgia - With all sincerity, Nugo is a topnotch guide! More than the gorgeousness of Georgia, our trip was remarkable because of this awesome tour guide. He knows not only where good places are and its background but also introduced us to variety of awesome people in these communities. Our first day were spent in Kakheti Region, a place of gorgeous mountains, historical sites, monasteries, and wineries. From Tbilisi Airport, it takes us around 1.5 hours to reach this haven and our first stop was on archetypal sweet shop that sells delicious Georgian candies, delicacies and other souvenirs. If my hearing is correct, they called it “Churchkuela”, candy made from natural grape juice and various kinds of nuts. It is delightful and flavorsome, just don’t judge its presentation. You really have to taste it! We then proceed to our next activity which is the traditional Georgian baking of Kakhetian Shoti. It’s my first time to see a “well-like” oven where you can see breads on its inner walls. Combining it with Guda cheese is a superb treat for your palate. Our next stop is in Sighnaghi, also called “the city of love”. It’s an Italian-style town, with cobbled streets, whittled balconies, a piazza and great wall that stretches for 5 km alongside its mountain ridges. This is where we had our very late lunch… although, I forgot all its name, the gastronomy is simple, succulent and satisfying. We ordered barbeque, soup made of fresh herbs and boiled beef. After filling ourselves, we go straight to the monastery nearby. I failed to remember its name but there is a tomb of a nun inside the church building… The place is soulful and rejuvenating. Our last stop is already foreseeable. Indeed, no one should go to Kakheti without wine-tasting and Nugo saved the best for last. The tour in a wine factory is a blast! After several shots of their wines, I am fully convinced why this region is considered the cradle of wine. From its aroma, flavor, sweetness and acidity, their wines are truly remarkable and something you’ll be asking for more. Thank you Nugo for setting the stage! Looking for the next day of our tour.

Unforgettable Experience - Our first day started with transportation from the airport which was on time and comfortable. Our flight arrived at 5:00am, so we needed to rest at the hotel before starting the day's adventures. Day one was a tour of Tbilisi. Nugo showed us several great spots around town in an efficient and well-planned manner. We never felt rushed or bored, so the pacing was perfect. He made sure the tour was tailored to our interests and was frequently checking with us to make sure we only spent time on things that we wanted to see. Before dropping us off for the night, he gave us great recommendations for entertainment and dinner. He made himself available for questions and information even after we had parted ways for the evening. Day Two was a trip into Kakheti. We stopped at a winery for a tasting and got to try many different Georgian wines and brandy. Next was a stop at a family bakery where we learned how to make bread in a traditional clay oven. I will be dreaming for months of the fresh baked bread and salty sheep cheese. Next we visited a beautiful monastery, then a fortress with a breathtaking view. At every stop, Nugo shared interesting background information that made us appreciate the rich history of Georgia. He also handled much of the communication with the local business owners, so we could completely focus on enjoying ourselves and taking in the scenery. Day three was a trip up to Gudauri. Due to some bad weather, we were unfortunately were unable to paragliding. Nugo nonetheless made sure we made good use of the time. We stopped at a reservoir, a beautiful viewpoint of a river in the mountains, and a fortress. He even found us some shots of chacha to stay warm in the snowy weather! At end of the three days, it felt like we were saying goodbye to a friend. We will certainly come back to Georgia again, and we will absolutely be contacting Nugo to arrange our itinerary. His punctuality, professionalism, and friendliness made this a trip we will never forget.

Great place and to be in must watch list-meticulously arranged by our tour operator Nugo - Two families from Kingdom of Bahrain consisting 7 members visited this great place Georgia. First thanks to our tour operator Nugo and David Vatto our tour guide who plannted meticulously and managed our entire tour of 5 days with such precision. Visited Kakheti wine museum. This is a must visit place in everyone's itinerary as it offers not only stunning view of this place but lot of insight information as to how wine was prepared, preserved and transported. The natural cellar under a mountain tunnel where temperature in naturally maintained at 14 deg. C This was operating since 16th century and now converted to a museum. It is strongly advised to take free shawl offer before entering the tunnel as it will be pretty cold. There is a display of vessels used to prepare wine including a huge earthern pot, the carts which used to transpsort finished wine in bottles and it is still stored in a cellar. As part of the entry ticket, they provide free wine tasting with cheese. On return from the museum, wines are available for sale too. There is a very good restaurant at the top of this mountain where georgian delicacies are offered at affordable price. Piece of advise!! there are plenty of choices for vegetarians too. Never indulge in indian cuisine in Georgia, as often you will fall sick and your trip would be miserable.

Visit to the Winery - Nugo was very welcoming and gave a good deal for our tour in Georgia. The trip to the winery was one of the best, we opted for a package where we could do wine tasting, learn to make the traditional bread, khinkali, Churchkhela (traditional Georgian cuisine candle-shaped candy) and some BBQ chicken. Highly recommended visit.
