Meteora - Embark on a 2-day journey from Athens to Meteora, featuring an overnight hotel stay, train tickets, and guided tours of the Meteora Rocks and monasteries in an intimate group setting. Collect your tickets and head to the Central Railway Station of Athens (Stathmos Larissis) by 7:30 AM. Board the train to Kalampaka, arriving in Meteora at 12:05 PM.
Upon arrival, you will be picked up from the train station and driven to your hotel, where you will have approximately 3 hours of leisure time. Later, you will be collected for the sunset tour. Visit all six monasteries, a hermitage, and a Byzantine church, immersing yourself in the area’s rich history. After the tour, you will be returned to your hotel. Enjoy free time to explore Kalambaka, where you can visit excellent museums such as the National History Museum and the Digital Projection Centre of Meteora. Stroll through the city and discover restaurants offering exquisite local cuisine.

Located in the old city, the Church of the Dormition of the Mother of God was constructed between the 10th and 11th centuries on the remnants of an early Christian basilica. It features a mixed-type aisled basilica design, with banking, an illuminated intermediate declinable splint, and a tribelon. Explore this remarkable church and learn how ancient and medieval elements have been harmoniously combined.

Meteora - On the following day, our partners will pick you up from your accommodation to begin your Meteora tour. Delve into the area’s history, from the first hermits living in caves to the medieval monks who, at great risk, began building on the towering rocks. Discover what inspired the monks to construct their homes in this steep and inaccessible region. After the tour concludes, you will have time to enjoy Kalabaka in the shadows of the city’s towering guardians. Later, at 5:05 PM, catch the train from Kalabaka back to Athens.

Join this two-day tour and travel from Athens, the mother of western civilization, to one of the most significant Monastic communes in Greece, the world heritage monument of UNESCO Meteora. Begin from Stathmos Larissis, the central railway station of Athens, where you will get on the train that takes you to Kalambaka. The train departs at 07:58 AM. At approximately 10:45 AM, the train will make a stop at Paleofarsalos, where you should exit and catch the connecting bus that will continue the trip to Kalambaka. The bus belongs to the train company.
