• The White House Restaurant (Durrell Family House) - The White House was the home of Lawrence and Nancy Durrell in the 1930s in northeast Corfu. Nested in the picturesque shore of Kalami, overlooking the turquoise waters of the Ionian Sea, the Venetian villa is available to visit as a museum to explore and learn about the family’s story. During our stop there, you can enjoy a drink and relax at their beachfront restaurant while enjoying the view and nature that inspired Lawrence’s writing. The scenic drive from the port to Kalami is about 45 minutes long, and there’s perfect spots on the way to stop for pictures and admire the island’s beauty.

The Durrell family settled in Corfu in 1935 and remained until 1939. During this period, they resided in various locations across the island. This expedition follows in the Durrells’ footsteps across Corfu. We’ll explore some of the residences they inhabited, as well as the charming filming locations for the series. The tour begins with a welcome service at the port terminal and lasts 4.5 hours. We’ll drive along the scenic northeast coast of Corfu, stopping at the White House in Kalami, which was once occupied by Lawrence Durrell and his wife Nancy. After that, we’ll head back to Danilia Village, where a significant portion of the series was shot. We’ll visit Kanoni for a breathtaking view of Mouse Island and the Strawberry Pink Villa, then we’ll wander around Corfu Town to admire the writer’s statues in Durrell’s Boschetto and explore the historic center of Corfu’s ancient city. The tour concludes with a drive back to your cruise ship.
