• Hokokuji Temple (Takedera Temple) - Experience tranquility in a stunning bamboo forest with a traditional Japanese ambiance. Hokokuji Temple, often referred to as the bamboo temple, boasts a magnificent bamboo grove behind its main hall. Established in 1334 (the first year of the Kenmu era) by Ashikaga Ietoki, the grandfather of Ashikaga Takauji, the first shogun of the Muromachi shogunate, it has become a popular destination for international tourists, especially after receiving a three-star rating in the Michelin Green Guide Japan. The serene bamboo forest, home to approximately 1,000 bamboo trees each about 25 meters tall, offers a quintessential Japanese experience. There is an admission fee to explore the bamboo garden, but it is well worth it! From the cafe space “Kyukoan,” visitors can enjoy matcha tea (additional charge) while gazing at the beautiful bamboo scenery. Admission fee: Adults ¥1,000/Children ¥800
• Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine - A shrine linked to Minamoto no Yoritomo, the first Shogun of Kamakura. The expansive grounds of this shrine feature numerous historical structures, including the main shrine. Climbing the large stone steps to the main shrine offers a panoramic view of Kamakura, extending to Yuigahama. To the left of the main shrine is Maruyama Inari Shrine, the oldest structure at Tsurugaoka Hachimangu, built in 1398. Both the main shrine and Maruyama Inari Shrine are designated as important cultural properties of Japan.
• Hase-dera Temple - Renowned for its peonies, it is affectionately known as the “Temple of Flowers.” As the head temple of the Buzan sect of Shingon Buddhism, it is the 8th temple of the 33 Saigoku Sacred Temples. Believed to have been founded in the early 8th century during the Nara period, the main hall is situated halfway up Mt. Hatsuse. The temple grounds are lush with nature, featuring over 150 varieties and 7,000 peonies, along with cherry blossoms, hydrangeas, autumn leaves, and other seasonal flowers, earning it the nickname “Temple of Flowers.” The main hall, a national treasure, houses a golden “principal image of eleven-faced Kannon” statue over 10 meters tall, one of Japan’s largest wooden Buddha statues. • Kotoku-in (Great Buddha of Kamakura) - Feel the power of the Great Buddha! The blessings include world peace and national stability. The Great Buddha of Kamakura, a symbol of the city, is enshrined at Kotoku-in Temple, about a 7-minute walk from Hase Station on the Enoshima Electric Railway. This large bronze statue of Amida Nyorai stands 11.3 meters tall and weighs 12 tons, and is designated as a national treasure. For a 20 yen admission fee, visitors can enter the Great Buddha’s womb through an entrance at the back. The interior is naturally lit through a window. The blessings are world peace and national stability, and the statue’s grandeur is awe-inspiring. The “good luck wooden tag strap” is also popular for bringing good fortune. • Enoshima - One of Japan’s three great Benzaiten shrines! It is believed to bring good fortune in the arts, love, and business prosperity. The shrine features three deities, the three sisters Hetsumiya, Nakatsumiya, and Okutsumiya, along the approach to the shrine. According to historical records, the shrine was established in 552 (the 13th year of Emperor Kinmei’s reign) when the gods were enshrined in a cave on the island by imperial order. This is a unique full-day Kamakura tour. Kamakura City is an ancient town that still preserves its cultural heritage. However, there are limited plans available. We emphasize its value as an excellent destination.

Secondly, this tour is conducted not only with a professional interpreter but also with a private vehicle, making it very accommodating for senior citizens.
