A fabulous day of culture, food and learning local transport- all tailored to us - Seizo Kamiuto was a fabulous guide. He tailored our 6 hours to our interests, to see the key cultural rate moles abd shrines in Kamakura. He taught us the cultural aspects and we learned about Japanese history. We told him we loved sushi abd he took us to a great spot for lunch. It felt like very personalized treatment at the sushi bar and reasonable price wuth sake. We had matching tea service. Because we tavelled from Yokohama to Kamakura, we took both train and buses. It was our first day in Japan so we learned how to do that, how to use our Welcome Suica we bought at the airport, and how to recharge. It cost about 2000 yen each for the travel. "If" we tried this trip on our own, I am sure it would not have been as smooth a process! Seizo also helped us to print our pre-booked reserved tickets on the Shinkansen at the JR East Office in Yokohama. Again, this went smoothly due to his help. Otherwise we had to get them at Shinjuku Station which felt a bit overwhelming to face or at Tokyo Station the day of the trip later in the month. We felt like Seizo became a friend who we hope we can see again in the future, as we want to come back. Highly recommend a tour with him! There were 2 of us.

Lovely day in Kamakura - We had a great time with Seizo. He took us to many interesting places and gave background information. He weather was very hot but he made sure we did not get too hot. When we said goodbye at the train station, he made sure to take us right to the platform and told us at which station to get off to change trains.

Insightful tour of Kamakura - Seizo was a wonderful guide for our family. He explained the history and culture and religion in Japan. Our walk through the shrines and temples was enhanced by his knowledge college. He was also flexible and very patient with our family when we needed a lot of water and rest breaks.

Kamakura with Michio - We had the joy of meeting up with our guide, Michio again having been to Nikko with him earlier on our trip to Japan. Our day trip to Kamakura with Michio proved to be equally wonderful. Before setting off from the hotel with him and our private driver, Michio gave us a potted history of Kamakura and its place in the long history of the seats of power in Japan both Emperial and Shogunate. Our tour included Jochi-Ji, the Great Buddha and Meigetsu-in Temple among other shrines and temples. The pace was just right allowing us to fully appreciate the magnificent gardens and having our own driver enabled us to always arrive near the entrance which was a real plus because these are big, energetic days. We had sukiyaki of the finest quality for lunch at a quiet restaurant. On our way back to the hotel in Yokohama we drove through the lovely suburbs of Yamato and Motomachi to finish off a really great day. Thank you Michio and our driver!

Amazing! - Taka did an excellent job with this tour! He helped us thru the train maze then on to Kamakura! His English is very good, easy for husband with hearing aids to understand. Very knowledgeable about so many things! We had some great conversations with him! The Budda is an amazing sight to see! So worth the trip! And the traditional Japanese lunch was the best! He gave us full instructions on how to eat the delicious lunch! Delivering us back to our hotel after our day was so nice!

Kamakura with Shinji - The day began when Shinji met us at our hotel. We were not at ease with the public transportation system from there to Kamakura so he helped us navigate it for the entire trip. We visited four amazing sites including the Giant Buddha and the Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine. He adjusted the pace of the tour to our age and physical limitations. When we requested a traditional Japanese restaurant he found one and we enjoyed a tasty and delicious lunch. At the conclusion of the tour he brought us back to our hotel before returning home himself. We would definitely recommend him to any future travelers to Kamakura.

Kamakura 6hr Private Walking Tour - I have met my guide Shinji at the Yokohama Port as I was debarking a cruise ship. Shinji is a very upbeat, happy smiley person. He arranged metro, train, bus seamless transfers, even found a temporary storage in Kamakura for my suitcase, so we could visit all sites lite. We have visited the image of a Great Buddha, Tsurugaoka Hachimangu shrine, caught a glimpse of cherry blossoms on our way to lunch at the local restaurant. Our last stop was a place Shinji found for me to learn and participate in a demonstration of traditional Japanese tea ceremony. It was a delightful and amazing experience - to immerse into the ancient culture and tradition. Shinji was translating all explanations to me, telling what i should say before first sip of tea, how to move. This experience was unforgettable. At the end of the tour Shinji brought me back to Yokohama station and put me on a shuttle bus to Haneda Airport - everything was perfectly timed. For a solo traveler this was perfect everything! I didn't' have a single worry about time, or where to go, which station to exit. Thank you Shinji!!

Kamakura tour with Shinji. - Shinji Komiyama reached to us well prior to the tour to get a sense of what we were looking to do in Kamakura and made arrangements to meet us in the lobby of our hotel. He was here prior to the time and met us with a big smile and explained public transport or taxi. We opted for public transport and he ensured the train and change over to another train was seamless. So great to have a local showing us the ropes. We saw all the temples on our list and he provided insights into each with the history. Not at all rushed and had many opportunities for taking fantastic photos. He was patient, engaged and upbeat. A perfect guide for group from Vancouver Canada. I highly recommend him as a guide. Thank you so much Shinji you were awesome. 😀👍🙏

Peaceful, beautiful walk from temple to shire with lovely cherry blossoms, - Shinji took me on a wonderful walk through forests and town to several temples and shrines in the Kamakura area. The day happened to be perfectly sunny and just the right temperature for hiking. Some of the terrain was a bit hilly, with roots on the path, up and down several steps but a nice moderate hike. An added bonus was buying some food and going to the beach to sit and eat a quick lunch. Also, the cherry blossom walk through the center of Kamakura, ending at the shrine, provided a unique experience. The only comment is that while Shinji was exceptionally kind, helpful and attentive, I had a little difficulty understanding his English. But we worked at it and in the end, it was all good!
