Wonderful way yo get to know the people up close in Uganda as they all seemed to know Richard. - Wonderful day spent with Richard, our private guide from Viator. Amazing to watch the water drain in different directions depending on if we were north of, south of or directly on the equator. We even received a certificate that listed all the countries and oceans that are in the equator. Live and learn.

Short and fun trip! - It was a quick and fun getaway from the busyness of Kampala traffic. Checked off a bucket list item to walk across the equator 😊 My guide, Daniel, was very knowledgeable about Ugandan history and culture, so it was cool to hear some national stories on my way there and back. The drive to the equator itself (plus the time it took to view the water experiments near the equator line and browse through the souvenir shops nearby) didn’t take much time, so Daniel was gracious enough to have me also visit the King’s Palace after we returned to Kampala. Great trip!

Awesome day trip to the equator in Uganda - Awesome day! Since we didn’t have much time in Uganda this time around, we decided to do a last minute day trip to the equator. Dark Hills got to organize everything pretty quick for us! Robert, our driver, made sure we had a wodner day, he was very friendly and a such a funny guy! As we were visiting the equator for the first time, it was an amazing experience! We got to see the water experiment and got some interesting information. Aftee that we had a delicious meal exactly on the equator, such a interesting and fun day! I would definitely recommend this day-trip.

A memorable trip to the equator - Our guide Robert did an excellent job driving us from Kampala to see the equator. It was my first time there (and Uganda was my first visit south of the equator), and though there's not a lot to "see" (other than the nice sign and line painted on the ground there) it was a rewarding experience to be there. We paid a little extra to get a demonstration of water draining counter-clockwise vs. clockwise :-) and an official-looking certificate commemorating our visit, which I thought was money well spent. Afterwards we had a nice authentic Ugandan meal at a local restaurant across the road.
