• Ssezibwa River Falls - The driver guide will collect guests from their hotel and embark on a journey to Jinja, with the first stop at the stunning Ssezibwa Falls, meaning “I can’t be blocked.” This waterfall has two different perspectives regarding its formation, both geographical and traditional. The site guide will provide detailed information about this attraction, including a brief hike to the top of the waterfall.
• Uganda Martyrs Shrine - On the way to or from Jinja, there will be a special 15-minute stop at the Namugongo Martyrs Shrine. The driver guide will explain the historical background of the Ugandan martyrs in relation to colonialism and the Buganda kingdom.
• Lugazi - The second stopover will be at the lush landscape in Lugazi, where clients can enjoy a clear view of the sugar and tea plantations in the area. Guests are welcome to step out of the car and capture some beautiful photos!
• Mabira - A nature walk in Mabira Forest, Uganda’s largest tropical rainforest, strategically located along the highway to Jinja, is included. Clients are guaranteed an opportunity to stop here for a nature walk to observe various bird and tree species.
• Jinja - Upon arrival in the tourism city of Jinja, guests will start by taking pictures and selfies at the new Source of the Nile Bridge and River Nile. They will then be driven to KingFisher Resort for a boat ride to the source of the Nile River.
• Jinja - The tour concludes with a drive through Jinja city to the craft market and lunch at a local restaurant.
• Source of the Nile - Speke Monument - Upon arrival at KingFisher Resort, guests will take a boat ride to the source of the Nile River. While on the boat, they can expect to see a variety of bird species and reptiles, as well as the “John Speke” monument, where he is said to have stood while discovering the source of the world’s longest river. The boat will later continue to the Mahatma Gandhi monument, connecting to the other side of the river.
