Traditional pilgrimages are made here, as it is believed to possess supernatural powers. Visitors often leave grass, stones, or other offerings as sacrifices, thought to bring good luck. Beyond its fascinating history, the breathtaking views and sounds of the waterfall are sure to give you goosebumps. • Mabira Central Forest Reserve - Continue to Mabira Eco Forest for a 3-hour guided nature walk. Once known as the “Amazon of Uganda,” Mabira was the largest natural forest in the country, though its size has been reduced due to logging. Covering 300 sq.km, it is located in Buikwe district between Lugazi and Jinja City and has been a protected forest reserve since 1932. Despite this, Mabira offers plenty of adventures, with over 300 tree and bird species and playful monkeys that are a delight to watch. Enjoy a 2-3 hour guided nature walk through the forest.
