Embark on a Journey to the Summit!

Known metaphorically as the lunar peaks, the Rwenzori ranges house Africa’s third tallest summit, reaching 5109m. The loftiest heights of Rwenzori are enrobed in snow, uniquely making it the only snowy region within Uganda. This mountain serves as a crucial shelter for numerous threatened species and persistently feeds the River Nile. The peaks, enveloped in fog, of this robust massif stand nearly 4,000 m over the Albertine Rift Valley, enabling their visibility from far away distances. The mountains present an untouched and exotic topography of alpine plant life, dotted with remarkable giant lobelias, groundsels, and heathers which have earned the nickname “Africa’s botanical big game”. A combination of dazzling snow-cloaked peaks, glaciers, V-shaped valleys, swiftly moving rivers adorned with splendid waterfalls, crystal-clear lakes and unique flora all contribute to the region’s extraordinary beauty.
