Way beyond my expectations! - If you ever booked a trip through international travel agent, you know that the first day equals to arrival, the last day equals to departure, a 13-day trip will leave you 11 days. But this is not the case for this local travel agent Home To Africa Tours and Travel: I was picked up in the early morning on day 1 from Kigali airport in Rwanda, driven entire day to Nyungwe Forest National Park. The next morning, my guide Theo picked me up at 4am from the hotel, drove to the National Park for Chimpanzee Trekking. In the next few days, I hiked to 12,000 ft Mount Bisoke, did Golden Monkey trekking. Then I was transferred to Uganda, started 8-day safari in this Pearl of Africa. I have done many safaris in other part of Africa, like Tanzania, Namibia and South Africa, but the safari experience in Uganda was way beyond my expectations: I saw almost all kinds of wild animals, and so many of them, even including the very illusive leopard with twin babies 2 meters away! These could happen all because of my guide William from Home To Africa Tours and Travel, he cherished my time even more than me: we were the first left the safari lodge every morning and the last left the National Park, so we could encounter so many amazing animals in the early hours and late hours of the day. William did not want me to have any regret before leaving his country: after knowing that I did not have the luck to see chimps in Rwanda, he rearranged a Chimpanzee Trekking in Uganda for me. With a local guide and only myself, I had the chance to see more than 20 chimps in the family of 58, including many playful babies and juveniles! I could not say enough Thank You to William! On the last day of my 13-day safari in Rwanda/Uganda, we needed to drive 7 hours to airport to catch my flight at 6pm, they still fit me in with one-hour Rhino Trekking, I was lucky enough to see baby Rhino suckling! Not only the guides, the staff at Home To Africa Tours and Travel were extremely helpful too, they provided me all the detailed information, answered my question literally in a few minutes—then I realized sometimes it was already past their midnight—I felt guilty and started to think about their time before emailing questions. Anyway, this was my best safari experience ever! Highly recommended.

Exceptional Company - Home to Africa is an exceptional company to work with in Uganda, and I highly recommend them. We booked a trip with them, and they organized everything flawlessly from airport pick-up to the activities throughout our stay. The trip was expertly arranged by their staff member, Hedmond, who was always available to answer our questions, even with the time difference. Our guide, Rollands, was incredibly knowledgeable and experienced, making our journey truly unforgettable.

my safari in Uganda was really above my expectations - I had decided to invite my son (20 years old) to experience the wildlife and scenery of Eastern Africa following an internship he did in Kampala this summer. I hesitated between the more well-known national parks in Kenya and Tanzania on the one hand, and Uganda on the other hand. I'm really happy I chose Uganda, and Home to Africa Tours. The trip was absolutely amazing, for many reasons: - we saw essentially all the large animals you expect to see, and most of them really close up (but safely of course) - this includes elephants (both from the car on the savannah, and from a boat along the channel between lakes George and Edward), lions, rhino, giraffes, leopards, zebras, buffalos, hippos, warthogs, antelopes, crocodiles, lots of beautiful birds, etc etc, and last but not least chimpanzees and gorillas, with which we spent absolutely magical moments in the jungle - the scenery was gorgeous and unexpectedly diverse (dry savannah, lush gentle hills, very impressive mountains, jungle, rivers, lakes, swamps) - the lodges (in the budget formula) ranged from exceptionally beautiful and very high quality to OK (there was only one that was only OK in terms of quality - on the other hand, this lodge offered a golden opportunity to see hippos close up in the evening) - the food was great in all the lodges (by the way, none of us had any stomach problems during our time in Uganda) - all the people we encountered (even outside of the lodge and park staff) were really nice and friendly, and it was so interesting to learn a little bit about the rich set of cultures and languages. There are lots of companies that offer similar tours. A key strength of Home to Africa is its size: we would see several other cars from the same company, and this can be quite useful if there is a problem with a car. They use Toyota landcruisers, with added, very comfortable suspension, and a rooftop that can be lifted up so that you can comfortably stand to watch and hear the animals in the national parks. Not all companies have such cars. The seats were also very comfortable, and the inside of the car was cleaned on a regular basis during the trip. Our driver, Josh, did a fantastic job driving and showing us around, and he was clearly sensitive to our wishes. We always felt safe, and Josh also let us put the music we wanted. :-) The personnel that handled the booking was also very helpful, and responded quickly to my e-mails. It's all very professional.

Amazing experience with HOME-TO-AFRICA - I enjoyed the time exploring the pearl of Africa with Augustine, he was kind, patient and helpful in any way he could, always giving us relevant info and helping us get to our destinations and even more he helped us see every animal we were wishing to see. If you are ever thinking of going to Uganda definitely ask for Agus and pick hometoafrica as your partner for safaris

Home to Africa Uganda and Rwanda - We are just now leaving after 9 days tour starting in Rwanda and crossing into Uganda and exploring Uganda with Home to Africa. Our itenerary was able to be customized to include about 3 days in Rwanda where we went on Cuktural village trips, Golden Monkey trek and Dianne Fossey museum. Then we crossed the border on land to Uganda. Our guide was William and he was excellent. The tour included just the right blend of culture, animal trekking and adventure. I would probably chose a couple down days in between game drives if I did it again. We spent the most time animal trekking in Murchison Falls. We got so lucky seeing many many animals including hyenas, leopards and lions. We had just been to Masai Mara on safari and it was similar in the driving part of the safari but also way more density of animals at Murchison than at the Masai. The hotels we picked were mid range. All but one we liked and that one they did laundry and it rained on our clothes. Keep in mind there are probably no driers and it rains almost every day so they have to line dry. I will plan better next time. That was entirely my fault. The mid range accomodations were all triples with three beds just like I asked. Everything was exactly as I asked also. William cleaned the truck every day and helped us buy pineapples and mangoes and bananas from vendors. He helped us stay safe and healthy and when my son didn’t feel well he helped him with his remedies and they worked!! Also it was me momma age 53 and my two kids girl age 19 and boy age 18. We felt so safe with William. He knows everyone out there! Finally the food. We ate so much great food! I highly recommend trying anything local dish wise that you can. He has his favorite places just trust him he knows they are safe. Highlights for me-the Gorilla and Chimp treks. For my daughter Gorillas and the Genocide Memorial visit in Rwanda. For my son the food and the Gorillas. We did the Gorilla trip in Uganda and it was amazing. Take the medium hike it was perfect!!

Extended Uganda experience - Spending almost twice the time for the entire „standard“ roundtrip allowed for a deeper and more relaxing journey and learning more about wildlife, geography and the rich cultural diversity of the pearl of Africa

Professional and experienced - We had contacted several travel agencies before coming to Uganda but it was Home to Africa that we chose, because of its well-calibrated and flexible tours and professional communication when booking. We chose a 12-day horseback ride between Rwanda (3 days) and Uganda (9 days). We spent the majority of our stay in Uganda with the very experienced William who made us discover the country, its wildlife and culture with passion and great professionalism. In short an unforgettable experience largely thanks to the excellent service of Home to Africa.

An amazing experience with Home to Africa - My wife and I travelled across Uganda with Home to Africa and their amazing guide Karim for 15 days. From the very start their company were so helpful organizing our itinerary and helping us through every step, including advice for the Visa application. They always responded within a day or two and were very knowledgeable and kind. An A+ for communication! Our guide Karim was so kind, warm, welcoming and full of knowledge and he was eager to share it with us each and every day. We simply cannot say enough good things about him! A guide can really make or break a Safari and Karim definitely made our trip special! We cannot recommend Home to Africa and their guide Karim enough :)

Unforgettable - My long-time dream was to go to Uganda and of course I couldn't choose a better agency to do it. From the beginning everything was easy to make the changes we wanted and to be able to make an unforgettable honeymoon. The best thing about the trip, in addition to getting to know Uganda, its people and culture, its landscapes and many animals, was getting to know Derrick, our guide, a discovery. What a kind, fun and attentive man, undoubtedly the best guide we could have.

What a great trip!! - It was a huge success to book our 8-day safari with them, they helped us from the first moment to have everything we needed for our trip, but the best part was yet to come and that was meeting our guide Derrick who is a fun, cheerful and He loves his job and shows it in every moment of the safari you spend with him. Without a doubt, the best thing we could choose was Home to Africa with Derrick! Every second of this safari was truly wonderful!!
