Fun and Friendly Walking Tour in Kampala - My partner and I joined the Steve Kampala Walking Tours while visiting Kampala, and it was such a great experience. From the start, our guide, Steve, made us feel welcome and comfortable. He’s full of energy, knows the city inside out, and shares stories that make Kampala come alive.
We walked through lively streets, markets, and historical spots, and Steve pointed out hidden gems we would never have noticed on our own. I loved how he mixed local culture, history, and everyday life in a way that felt personal and fun.
The pace was perfect — not too rushed — so we could take photos, try street food, and really soak in the atmosphere. Doing the tour as a couple made it extra enjoyable because we could explore together while learning so much.
If you’re visiting Kampala, this walking tour is a must. It’s relaxed, informative, and full of little surprises that make the city feel warm and welcoming. We left feeling like we really got to know Kampala beyond the usual sights.

Steve was an excellent guide - Steve was an excellent tour guide, he was lovely and super knowledgeable. He was very accommodating with the route and catered to the things we were interested in seeing. We highly recommend Steve’s tour.

Not to miss if interested in knowing Kampala - Had a exciting city walk with Steve. He is very knowledgeable, a good communicator and a very smily/ positive person. He shares a lot of useful insight and is very quick to adopt the tour according to one’s wishes and interest. Very prompt, and punctual despite all the chaos in Kampala.

An excellent city tour - highly recommended - Steve was an excellent and very informative guide who took us around the highlights of the city, from the University to the slums, vegetable market to the Independence monument. He patiently answered all our questions and sorted out delivery of our purchases and somewhere for us to eat. Absolutely recommend.

Great introduction to Kampala from an excellent guide - Kampala Free Walking Tour was an excellent way to be introduced to both Kampala and Uganda. My family with 2 children (9 and 11) attended the tour on our first full day in Uganda and learned so much from our guide about the history and culture of the city and Uganda. Our guide Steve was very knowledgeable and patient with our children. He took us to all the main sights, and ensure we tried some delicacies in the market. While cruising the roads in Kampala isn't for the faint of heart, Steve ensured we did so safely. I would highly recommend this walking tour for anyone interested in seeing Kampala and learning about it from a local.

Great! - Gertrude was very kind, knowledgeable, funny, and made us feel safe at all times. Definitely recommend this tour to everyone who wants to get to know Kampala and see some places you might not go to on your own.
