Best Cultural Activity I Had in One Month in Uganda - Best cultural experience of my one month in Uganda. The host couple are warm, articulate and enthusiastic. I had the best time in both market and preparing the meal. Two neighbors joined in "teaching" me. Everyone spoke English and educated me about culture and life as well as food. I highly recommend this experience.

Friendly and educational and tasty - Booking process was very smooth Andrew responded to emails quickly and clearly. Found online and emailed through their website. My boyfriend and I learnt to cook matoke and binjanjali (beans), posho and g nut sauce all in the traditional way. We were explained everything by Angela who trained in cookery school and is a great chef and teacher. We also had some great chats with Andrew about the history of Uganda. We loved our day and even used what we learnt when cooking for ourselves the following month. Lovely people.

Great immersion - We met Andrew at Victoria Mall, walked 10minutes to the market. From there we bought the vegetables, spices that we were going to cook. He explained us from which region it came, answered all our questions. Then we took a cab to the host house where we started to peel matoke (banana) and cut all the vegetables. We cooked them on charcoal and gaz. It was interesting to see. Finally we shared the meal with Andrew, our hosts and her friends, exchanging about Ugandan Culture.

A Ugandan pop up chef - After watching my favorite YouTuber blogger mention immersion tours I had to check out their website to learn I could get a visit from a local chef. While on a business trip it so happened my birthday was coming up and what a grand opportunity to not only learn to prepare Ugandan dishes but also to share a birthday with new found friends. Immersion tours really made my birthday the best ever. From shopping for food in the local markets with the chef to buying my birthday cake immersion tours really put together a memmoriable experience. I highly recommend contacting Arthur and his team. Just do it! Thank you Arthur.

Dining Experience - Met at my Guesthouse by my guide Arthur on time and without issue. We then went to a local market and purchased all the ingredients we needed for the meal. After this we went via boda(125cc motorcycle) to his home. Then we chatted about our interests and cultures whilst his mother Anne and sister Vanessa prepared the many dishes. They talked us through what the process was and how it will taste. Now was time for the sit down meal...the food was delicious and there was plenty to go around. I enjoyed the hospitality and friendly nature of Arthur and his family and was pleased with my tour. My only criticism was that I would have liked to have helped in the preparation as well as the gathering of the food stuffs...other than that I was more than grateful!
