Highlights
 • Kampong Kdei - We depart from Siem Reap at approximately 8am, heading south via the national road towards the province of Kampong Thom. The provincial capital, also named Kampong Thom, is a charming town situated along the Stung Saen River. En route to our destination, we pause at Kampong Kdei to admire an ancient bridge that once held the title of the longest corbeled stone-arch bridge on the planet.
 • Sambor Prei Kuk - As we approach the temple site, we venture northward for roughly 25 kilometres on a smooth road to delve into the pre-Angkorian Chenla kingdom’s heart at Prasat Sambor Prei Kuk. The site, known as Isanapura, consists of four temple clusters. These structures are some of the earliest examples of Khmer architectural heritage. The walk through the forest offers stunning vistas and is a prime illustration of 7th-century Pre-Angkorian artistry (615 - 650AD). The area, blanketed in lush greenery, features over a hundred temples, with many in a state of decay and some entwined with the roots of large trees, resembling wood carvings. A portion of the exploration through the main ruins requires walking along narrow trails, so comfortable footwear is recommended.

A meal will be provided in the vicinity of the temples before we commence our return journey to Siem Reap, leaving the tranquil ambiance of Sambor Prei Kuk. We anticipate arriving back at your accommodation around 5 pm.

This is a great tour and opportunity... -
This is a great tour and opportunity to see something very different then Angkor wat.
The temples and trees are in a national park and so it is cool and quiet. Little hustle bustle or other tourist.
Be prepared for three hour drive. Bring water and snacks as we had none.
We did stop for lunch but it is a long day in the car with no other snacks.
