Explore the Geisha districts after dark, hear the tales of what actually went on in this district during the Edo period. Our professionally guided tour will take you through the 2 most beautiful Geisha districts of Kanazawa and then we’ll sit down with fellow travellers to a full course traditional meal and drinks(included in tour price). The tour duration is 2.5 hours. You will get the chance to explore the cultural background of these unique districts and get to sample some of the local dishes available in this area. Our night tour groups are small(usually 3 - 8 people) and include a dedicated professional guide to explain the locations and the dishes.

A trip highlight - The Kanazawa Night Tour with Nozomi was an extraordinary experience that exceeded all expectations. Nozomi’s deep knowledge of Kanazawa’s culture, history, and culinary traditions made the evening both fascinating and enriching. She guided us through hidden gems of the city, sharing captivating stories that brought Kanazawa to life in a way we would never have discovered on our own.
For anyone visiting Kanazawa, this tour is an absolute must, and Nozomi’s exceptional guidance ensures it will be a night to remember. Of all the tours I have taken in Japan this was by far the best one.

Fantastic stay in Kanazawa - We had a private Kanazawa Night Walking Tour with Ian. It was a great pleasure to listen about all interesting details of the Geisha districts and it's history. He showed us around and answered all our questions. It ended with a delicious meal in a nice small traditional Japanese restaurant. Thanks to Ian we had a great time and learned a lot. We can really recommend this tour, if you visit Kanazawa.

Atmospheric walking tour in Kanazawa - We loved our tour of Kanazawa. On a wet and chilly evening, our guide Nozomi, brought the traditional architecture and culture to life and enthralled us for the entire trip. We then joined her at one of her favourite restaurants which became one of the highlights of our whole Japanese adventure. With Nozomi, we felt like we had made a friend in Japan and experienced a unique insight into Japanese culture.

Great evening wander - Really nice small group that allowed a really personal experience. Ian our tour guide was really informative and interactive - followed by a great meal in a very traditional restaurant.

Outstanding Walking Tour – A Must-Do! - Nozomi’s walking tour was absolutely outstanding! Her passion for the area, engaging storytelling, and incredible depth of knowledge made the experience unforgettable. The tour was packed with fascinating stories, historical facts, and personal insights that truly brought the area to life.
What impressed me most was how well-curated the experience was—Nozomi even provided top-notch recommendations for dinner and drinks that perfectly complemented the tour.
A quick tip: bring extra layers and an umbrella as the weather can get cold and wet.
If you’re looking for an entertaining, educational, and expertly guided tour, I highly recommend booking with Nozomi. You won’t be disappointed!

Wonderful evening introduction to Kanazawa - We spent a great few hours walking through Kanazawa in the evening with Tetsuro Aida. His deep knowledge of the different neighborhoods, temples, and shrines we visited all helped to provide a great introduction to the city’s rich history. He also took us off the beaten path to visit some unusual sights (including a spinning library!). We appreciated his sense of humor and his willingness to entertain any type of question. He took us to an amazing restaurant for a traditional Udon meal (with great tempura on the side) that definitely warmed us up after the cold and rain. The relatively small size of the group (just six of us) made for a nice and convivial evening—Tetsuro provided us with an excellent overview of Kanazawa.

Excellent evening with a knowledgeable host - An excellent walking tour with a fabulous dinner. Jorge was a brilliant knowledgeable guide who was happy to answer our many questions about life in Japan as well as the local landmarks we passed

Great night tour with excellent dinner experience - Great way to do it on your first day so you get everything you need to know and see from the guide. Ian was knowledgeable and great at answering all your questions. About 45min walk through Higashi Chaya district followed by amazing dinner experience which was a highlight and definitely recommend to try!

Night walk through the old town - It was impressive to walk through a historic neighbourhood of Kanazawa at night and hear stories about the way of life today and in the past. The subsequent dinner with Tetsuro from the restaurant as well as his company and the service were extremely warm and lovely.
