Explore the Geisha districts after dark, hear the tales of what actually went on in this district during the Edo period. Our professionally guided tour will take you through the 2 most beautiful Geisha districts of Kanazawa and then we’ll sit down with fellow travellers to a full course traditional meal and drinks(included in tour price). The tour duration is 2.5 hours. You will get the chance to explore the cultural background of these unique districts and get to sample some of the local dishes available in this area. Our night tour groups are small(usually 3 - 8 people) and include a dedicated professional guide to explain the locations and the dishes.

Wonderful evening introduction to Kanazawa - We spent a great few hours walking through Kanazawa in the evening with Tetsuro Aida. His deep knowledge of the different neighborhoods, temples, and shrines we visited all helped to provide a great introduction to the city’s rich history. He also took us off the beaten path to visit some unusual sights (including a spinning library!). We appreciated his sense of humor and his willingness to entertain any type of question. He took us to an amazing restaurant for a traditional Udon meal (with great tempura on the side) that definitely warmed us up after the cold and rain. The relatively small size of the group (just six of us) made for a nice and convivial evening—Tetsuro provided us with an excellent overview of Kanazawa.

Night tour Kanazawa - Ian was great! He provided great information and was very informative. Diner was amazing - Udon noodles were the best I’ve had.

Excellent evening with a knowledgeable host - An excellent walking tour with a fabulous dinner. Jorge was a brilliant knowledgeable guide who was happy to answer our many questions about life in Japan as well as the local landmarks we passed

Great night tour with excellent dinner experience - Great way to do it on your first day so you get everything you need to know and see from the guide. Ian was knowledgeable and great at answering all your questions. About 45min walk through Higashi Chaya district followed by amazing dinner experience which was a highlight and definitely recommend to try!

Great food great experience! - Jorge was a great guide and we enjoyed the entire experience thoroughly! He was very generous in sharing with us all about Japanese culture and even gave us great recommendations for places to see and things to do thereafter. It's clear that he has really worked hard, done the research and truly immersed himself in Japanese culture, a feat for someone who's not Japanese himself.

Kanazawa at night - Tetsuro is a wonderful guide! He knows so much about Kanazawa, and loves sharing the fascinating history of the geisha districts. Because it was night, the districts were almost empty - it was quiet and magical, like stepping back in time. We then walked along the river to a restaurant where we enjoyed delicious udon. Tetsuro is warm, friendly, knowledgable, and we had a marvelous time!

10 stars - Jorge was one of best guides we have experienced. He is extremely knowledgeable and fun to be with as well. He also helped us with our train tickets which was a lifesaver! We learned so so much about Japan from him . We would love to tour with him again!

Night walk through the old town - It was impressive to walk through a historic neighbourhood of Kanazawa at night and hear stories about the way of life today and in the past. The subsequent dinner with Tetsuro from the restaurant as well as his company and the service were extremely warm and lovely.

INTERESTING EVENING - We enjoyed this tour but it was a shame we were the only ones on it as might have been more fun with other people to interact with. We did not feel that the meal was the best.

Kanazawa evening walk - Tetsuro led us round the gion districts with good information at various points and was very engaging. A very pleasant evening and delicious dinner.
