Highlight in Kanazawa - There were two of us there and had a wonderful evening. We were allowed to prepare various small dishes, including Japanese “Eggroll” and Nigiri. Everything we ate/cooked was fantastic! The boss Seiji is totally nice and funny, could explain a lot to us and guided us very nicely through the evening. He also took beautiful photos during the course and then sent them to us via AirDrop. At the end there was even a certificate to go with it. Definitely a highlight for us, highly recommended!

Best event in Kanazawa. - Highlight of our trip in Kanazawa. The chef was very prepared to discuss food, tradition, and we got hands on involvement. We ate our excellent meal afterward. He had all the language technology available so we don’t miss a beat. A MUST visit while in town.

Fantastic Cooking and Dining Experience! - Chef Nakata san was a joy to spend our evening with. I love to cook and my husband eats whatever I make, but I was happy to learn how to make some traditional Japanese dishes the correct way from a real chef. We had fun and we also had a delicious meal with really fresh sushi!! Yummy!!!

COOKING WITH SEIJI NAKATA - I cannot say enough good things about NAKATA COOKING SCHOOL! I was so fortunate to spend time with Seiji Nakata as my instructor. He was extremely knowledgeable, talented, passionate about his craft & so very funny! It was refreshing to have dishes authentically prepared and not dumbed down for tourists! The kitchen was immaculate with an inviting atmosphere and technology allowed us to communicate well with a visual translator. I seriously urge you to book this class if given the opportunity. I experienced many highlights on my three week trip ~ this one was truly memorable ~ THANKS Seiji Nakata

Cooking with Samurai Chef is the Best! - We celebrated part of our 2nd year wedding anniversary on Japan with this fun cooking class in Kanazawa. Not only did we get to wear really cool sushi chef outfits, we also got to learn the tried and true Japanese cooking techniques from a professional chef. We made both well-known dishes and dishes local to Kanazawa. The samurai chef also took great pictures throughout and was able to airdrop them before we left the class. The class has a very casual and fun atmosphere, while still being really informative on both ingredients and also technique. We were able to walk away with a PDF complete with all the ingredients, techniques, and secrets that we learned in the class. This is the real deal and I can't recommend it enough for everyone, from solo travelers to couples, and also families. The chef uses two types of translation devices to make sure that his class is accessible to everyone, regardless of language ability.
