- Kenrokuen Garden - Kenrokuen (兼六園) in Kanazawa is justifiably classified as one of Japan’s “three most beautiful landscape gardens” alongside Mito’s Kairakuen and Okayama’s Korakuen. The spacious grounds used to be the outer garden of Kanazawa Castle and were constructed by the ruling Maeda family over a period of nearly two centuries. Opened to the public in 1871, Kenrokuen features a variety of flowering trees which provide the garden with a different look for each season.

Five Stars for Hiroko! - Just finished a 6-hour tour with Hiroko. She was amazing! We toured the samurai district, geisha district, Kanazawa castle kenrokuen park, and so much more! We also sampled all sorts of fun foods at Omicho market. Hiroko was absolutely delightful. Super knowledgeable about everything and more importantly, and absolute delight to be around - pleasant, friendly, funny, personable… she really made our day so perfect. We were sad to see her go! Five stars for the tour and five stars for Hiroko!

Walking the streets of Kanazawa was fun with Yumiko-san - It was a good six hours of walking in the streets of Kanazawa. Its good to know its history and to see highlights in each area. We had fun and the pace was just right. Yumiko-san has a very conversational English hence we really enjoyed the walking tour.

Thank you, Yumiko! - Yumiko was extremely professional, knowledgeable, personable, and patient. I traveled with a group of four others with somewhat varying interests. Yumiko made recommendations and always waited patient ently while we were engaged in activities. She stayed at least 30 minutes beyond our tour time because she wanted to help us see as much as we could. I would happily recommend her as a tour guide.

Can’t recommend this tour enough - Can’t recommend this tour enough! Our guide Hiroko was so informed and we covered everything in Kanazawa. She was friendly and spoke great English too. She added so much depth to the places we visited which included the geisha districts, samurai area, castle and gardens. She also took us to a place for lunch for Japanese pancakes which was very authentic and had just locals. In summary, this tour made Kanazawa my favourite location on our ten day trip of Japan thanks to Hiroko.

Enjoyable walking tour at own pace! - Very enjoyable walking tour! Fujio-san was very knowledgeable and his English was easy to understand!
The walking tour can be customized to fit your personal pace and interests, but if you have no idea what you want to see, the guide will take you to all the most popular spots!

Authentic well preserved Edo period Japan - Exploring the authentic original streets and selected houses in the geisha and samurai districts was a real treat. We were expertly guided by Yumiko our wonderful guide. She took us down the narrow streets, guided us through the samurai area and houses, we toured the beautiful peaceful kenroken gardens, through and around the Kanazawa castle and enjoyed a delicious lunch along the way.

Great tour with Hiroko - Our guide, Hiroko, was very knowledgeable and helpful. We are older and cannot spend a whole day walking so she was flexible and showed us only the most important sites in a manner that was not to taxing. We highly recommend Hiroko.

Kanazawa is a must, Fukien was great - So glad to have included Kanazawa in our tour of Japan. The garden is unbelievable and you are able to enjoy better access to the gardens than in Kyoto or Tokyo. The castle is most impressive and if that’s we’re not enough, the tour also included Samurai and geisha districts and markets. Fumie was knowledgeable and passionate about her home town and happy to share a few laughs along the way. Great day.

The perfect city tour - This was a wonderful trip. The highlights of the tour was (1) when our guide took us to a small local restaurant, (2) the explanation of the Geisha culture and our tour of a famous park. When we wanted to take pictures the guide who help us compose the picture by telling us the best place to stand.
If I could I would give more than five stars.

Kanazawa private tour - Fumie was our guide on private tour of Kanazawa, she was born here and she gave us many informations about the history of the city. We walked through the main touristic attractions spending nicely 4 hours together. Very kind and fluent in English, we really recommend her.
