One of the highlights of our trip to Japan! - One of the highlights of our trip to Japan! Seiji and his wife Ikumi have been the most friendly and fun hosts and did teach us how to cook traditional recipes from Japan cuisine. Ingredients were fresh and of high quality and the facilities impressive. They have also kindly catered for my needs to have a Gluten Free meal and they have been a pleasure to meet. Highly recommended.

One of our best meals in Japan…and we got to cook it. - This was a highlight of our trip to Kanazawa and to Japan as a whole. If you love cooking (like my hubby does) or love eating (like I do), book this class. You will have an excellent meal and learn some techniques to bring home. Nakata San and his wife were a joy (and hilarious). And don’t worry about a language barrier, as Nakata San uses the latest tech, so there is live translations happening the whole time, and his jokes are funny in Japanese and English. :-) We cooked a large variety of Japanese dishes, from sushi and miso soup, to more jibuni and tamago. Not to mention, he takes a ton of photos for you the whole time and air drops them to you at the end. So you can focus on having fun. Don’t miss this!!!!

Fun cooking and learning about Japanese food - This was a great experience - we learned about Japanese and local cuisine, had fun cooking (with expert guidance) and then got to eat the delicious results. Our teacher took some great photos too for us to remember the day - highly recommended!

Best part of our Japan trip so far! - We showed up to this incredible experiences and ended up being the only ones in the class! My fiancé and I had so much fun learning about Japanese cooking, eating it and the chef is so incredibly kind and funny as well. We had no issues with communication, the chef uses two kinds of translation and can speak some English. This was our favourite experience so far in Japan and I cannot recommend it enough. You learn skills you can take home with you, plus the chef takes really nice photos while you are cooking and airdrops them to you at the end of the cooking class. It’s such amazing value for the experience!

Unique Japanese cooking experience! - Wow! What a fun experience. It's not your typical cooking class but a unique, detailed hands on plunge into the intricacies of Japanese cooking. After a knife skills tutorial we learned that first you must carve a star pattern on the top of the mushroom to enhance the eye appeal. You can't just toss them into a cooking pot, it's not the Japanese way. The perfect weight of the rice for a sushi roll is 15 grams or the ratio of fish to rice to mouth becomes out of proportion. Discovered that making a simple egg sushi could be so time consuming and difficult to make. We spent hours making dishes ranging from miso soup to sushi. The chef and his assistant were very friendly and knowledgeable which made the time we spent there a fun experience. The language barrier between Japanese and English was minimized by the use of a big screen tv that interpreted all the conversations. The chef even send photos of the experience and all recipes to us after the class.

Amazing Japanese Cookery Class - A great experience with Nakata, who showed us how to make and enjoy traditional Japanese dishes with skill and humour. No language problems as his voice recognition and display allowed for very good Japanese/English communication. A very relaxed class, and a delicious lunch of the dishes we created. Would highly recommend this experience .

Fantastic cooking course! - This is a fantastic experience! Sakata is a wonderful teacher who transcends the language barrier through humour and innovative use of realtime audible and visual language translation. The dishes we made/cooked were first rate and everyone had a great time. Thoroughly recommend…and very close to the Kanazawa train station If time is tight.

AMAZING EXPERIENCE! - It has been a brutal experience! Authentic Japanese cuisine, very quality, and the couple is lovely. We've been treated great, and I think scallop sushi is the best thing I've ever eaten. Try it without thinking, the price, for what is the experience, it is super good!
