Sun, rain, hail, wind & Snow. - Sun, rain, hail and snow and the tour went ahead, we just wanted to say a massive thank you to our most informative guide Lee he was the most fantastic guide and if your visiting Kanazawa even for a short time this tour must be at the top of your list, I promise you won’t be disappointed and you must try the lunch time recommendation from Lee. It’s a fun filled full day with lots of leisurely walking, please make sure you have the correct footwear and the hours will just fly bye. Only wish we had longer here in Kanazawa.

Great intro to Kanazawa! - Mike was a wonderful guide. Had some reservations because of the rain and the distance but neither were major issues. Covered the distance no problem and even endured a little hail without issue. Kanazawa is surprisingly walkable. Tour was amazingly insightful. We saw all the major sites with a lot of interesting history and little details. Fun overlap with the Shogun series. Mike pointed out sights along the walk between major points of attraction making the walk itself fun. Mike was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Would recommend without hesitation.

Smorgasbord of Japanese history and culture - A fabulous informative walking tour that provided a wonderful insight into Kanazawa. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable, spoke fluent English and Japanese and was able to delve deeper into topics based on the needs of the small group. We covered all aspects outlined in the tour and he customised the amount of time we spent on each activity based on preference. A real smorgasbord of Japanese history and culture on offer. This is a full day walking tour so comfortable shoes and a reasonable level of fitness is required however it is a wonderful way to experience Kanazawa.

Highly recommended for a first full day in Kanazawa - Honestly so much if this was a great tour as a first timer into Kanazawa. It was a great overview of some of the areas and history as we walked between each major point on the tour. My guide, Mike, was very knowledgeable about everything and made sure to point out some interesting shops as well as offer time to explore between each destination. My favorite part, though, was probably getting to sit quietly and drink matcha while looking out into a peaceful garden. I could have sat there all day.

Local guided tour of the best of Kanazawa - This was an excellent way to see the city with an experienced guide who knew the shortcuts and back stories. Lee is a personable and caring guide. Because Lee lives here, he has a real version of life in Kanazawa. Loved the tea at Kerokuen gardens. I learned a lot at the Chaya district and have a better appreciation for the Geisha life and traditions. Cute little shops where I was able to stop in a buy a few local made crafts.

Very nice tour - We made the tour with Lee. He was very friendly and made the tour dynamic and interesting. You can see that even if he's not japanese he has gathered a huge amount of knowledge of the history and the culture of the country after living in Japan for almost 2 decades.

Very dissenting - Unfortunately I found it too expensive an experience and with very little information about the places we visited, our Mohammed Guide constantly mentioned things he seemed unsure of and when we asked him details he replied “I don’t know more than that...” “that’s what they told me...”, he had no ill will but I think he would have learned more by visiting the places alone and reading pamphlets. For the length of the Tour, the little that is explained of the places visited and the price, I would not take it again or recommend it. Free tours have offered me many better experiences in comparison.
