Nice intro to tea ceremony - Very wonderful experience in the beautiful gardens. I have been to traditional tea ceremonies in Japan before but my husband has not. The experience was just right and accessible to getting a glimpse of the tea ceremony.

A great way to experience a tea ceremony - I loved how intimate it was and I loved how clear it was when they were explaining every process in how to make tea and the history of the tea ceremony. It was very interesting and the hosts engaging. We would recommend this tea ceremony.

So much fun and... - So much fun and informative! The two hostesses were incredibly knowledgeable and engaging. They walked us through what could be a very somber process but they made it funny and interactive. The English translation was impeccable and they answered all of our really random questions. Also, for those with physical limitations, they do have stools/alternative seating if sitting on the ground is an issue. Don't be discouraged from attending!

Informative, enjoyable and a great location. - We wanted to do a tea ceremony in Japan and picked this one as it had good reviews but also as it was inside beautiful Kenrouken garden. What a great experience. My wife and I lesrned about the history of the ceremony and observed it being performed. We then even got to have a try ourselves. Highly recommended.

Beyond just tea! - This session was beyond learning how to make a good proper matcha tea- it was learning about the culture that goes behind it and every step that occupies it. It was a very unique experience that made us all appreciate the Japanese tea ceremony so much more. It’s accompanied by an English speaking guide which made a world of a difference. If u are around the area, do try to go for it !

Experience not to be missed - The ceremony was very relaxing and interesting, the history and fascinating Japanese culture is told. You are shown how to make tea and then try to make it yourself. All accompanied by delicious desserts. Thank you so much for the welcome.

Nice ceremony with good matcha and lots of information - The ceremony will take place in the teahouse in Kenroku-en Garden. In a room, each guest can decide for themselves whether to hold the ceremony on seat cushions on the tatami mats or a chair. The ceremony is performed by a Japanese tea ceremony master and an escort. The escort explained the process and gave an introduction to the history and rules of the tea ceremony in Kanazawa. After a sweet snack from a local confectionery manufacturer, we were presented with a matcha by the tea ceremony master. Even though I'm not a fan of matcha, I have to say it was the best matcha I've ever had. However, it is also possible to only sip the tea and not to drink it if the tea does not taste good at all. Afterwards we were allowed to make and drink our own matcha under the guidance, for which there was also a sweet snack in advance to prepare the taste buds for the tart tea. After a question-and-answer session with the tea ceremonies master and escort, the ceremony was over after less than an hour. A very nice experience that I would recommend to any tea lover, but also to those interested in Japanese culture who do not necessarily love tea. My mother doesn't like tea, but recommends it to anyone who ever visits Japan. The ceremony room is a traditional tatami room, but without windows, i.e. without a view of the garden. Admission to the garden of 320Â¥ (per adult) must be purchased separately at the garden entrance.

Quintessential Tea Ceremony - An elegant, lovely experience in the heart of Kerouken Gardens. The hostesses were appropriately formal but warm and welcoming. And spoke very good English making it a very enjoyable and very Japanese experience.

Ruined our afternoon. Took our money. - We were just a few minutes late and they turned us away. Unwilling to offer refund. Would not reccomend. The only unsavory buisiness people we've encountered in Japan. We wish them good luck.
