KANDY - DAMBULLA - SIGIRIYA
Golden Temple of Dambulla - Head towards Sigiriya via Dambulla. Enter the historic caves of the Golden Temple of Dambulla, dating back to the 1st century BC. Admire the ancient murals depicting the life story of Lord Gautama Buddha. Observe the hundreds of Buddha figurines and other deities scattered throughout the five main caves. Visit the Cave of the Divine King, Cave of the Great King, and the Great New Monastery. See the giant golden Buddha statue just outside the cave complex.
Sigiriya The Ancient Rock Fortress - Climb the 5th-century AD rock fortress, Sigiriya, where King Kasyapa ruled. Walk through the entrance framed by the paws of a lion, aptly named ‘the Lion Rock.’ View the beautiful, unfading murals that brought Sigiriya its fame. SIGIRIYA - NUWARA ELIYA
Ramboda Waterfall - Start your day in the morning and head towards Nuwara Eliya. Enjoy the scenic waterfall views and misty tea plantations. Visit the Ramboda Falls. Rivers, as they flow over uneven ground or down mountains, often split into tributaries or form waterfalls. Sometimes two tributaries of the same river may form twin waterfalls very close to each other as the water spills down cliffs and rocks. However, it is quite uncommon for the tributaries to combine after forming the waterfalls, creating a Y shape.
This unique and beautiful sight can be seen in the Pussellawa area of Nuwara Eliya, at the Ramboda Pass. The Ramboda Falls in Sri Lanka, also known as Ramboda Ella or Puna Ella, is created from Puna Oya, a tributary of Kothmale Oya. It forms a twin with Dunsinane Falls, created by Pundalu Oya, also a tributary of the Kothmale River, and combines at the base to form a Y shape.
Shri Bhakta Hanuman Temple - It was Gurudev’s Sankalpa, when he visited Sri Lanka in 1980, to establish a spiritual center at Ramboda. Chinmaya Mission Sri Lanka, with Gurudev’s blessings, purchased 10 acres of land in 1981 at Wevanden Hills. He named the land “Ramboda.” It is situated in the central part of Sri Lanka, 3,200 ft above sea level, 150 km from Colombo (a 3.5-hour drive). It is believed that Sri Hanumanji set his feet in these holy hills while searching for Sitaji. Pujya Guruji Swami Tejomayananda consecrated the temple on April 8, 2001, by performing Maha Kumbhabhishekam. This grand temple is now a great monument where the 16 ft idol of Lord Hanuman is the Moola Murti. Vinayakar, Dhyaneshwar, and Sri Rama with Mother Sita and Lakshmana are the parivara murtis.

James Taylor, a British citizen, introduced commercial tea plantation in Sri Lanka (Ceylon). He arrived in Sri Lanka in 1852 and settled in Loolecondera estate in Kandy. This is the point where the estuary of the Madu River is located. The river flows through a terrain where it creates a large number of islands, and the ecosystem creates a beautiful wetland. The hotels around offer boat rides through the canals at a reasonable cost, and there are plenty of places to stay, dine, and enjoy.
