Your instructors will be my wife, our sister, and our mother, and occasionally, our three adorable little girls will join in the cooking sessions. If you’re interested in exploring the local market, we can guide you and explain the various spices and vegetables. Join us to learn traditional cooking and savor divine food. We don’t have a professional chef; our teachers are my wife, sister, and mother, who are experts in traditional Sri Lankan cooking. The class takes place in our home kitchen, offering you a glimpse into Sri Lankan family life. Come, enjoy, and learn our traditional Sri Lankan cuisine. At the end of the class, we provide you with the recipes. If needed, we can arrange pick-up and drop-off services to your hotel (within the Kandy city area only).”

Amazing delicious Sri Lankan feast - We had a fantastic experience with Best Kandy Kitchen. We began by walking the busy local market to buy vegetables, spices and fish, then tuktukked to the family home. Such a beautiful, gentle, friendly family! Bit by bit we were guided, hands in, to assemble and amazing 12 course banquet (included rice & papadams). The family Mum was a treasure, strong, feisty and humorous.

Great experience but do not book with Tripadvisor - I had a great time cooking with the family and being invited to their home. Can recommend this experience to everyone!
But please beware: do not book this activity through Tripadvisor. They massively overcharge you and you end up paying nearly 3x the price you pay when you reach out to the family directly or try to find them through other platforms. A little surcharge is fine, but the price posted here (>70€ pP is NOT right)
I will try to get a refund but Tripadvisor is impossible to reach.
Cannot recommend this platform.

What are you waiting for? - The class is set in a warm homestead, nestled into the idyllic plains surrounding the Lion Rock in Sigiria.
The warmth begins with the tour of the gardens, showcasing all of the organically grown produce that serves the restaurant. You can just feel how much they love the land, you might even see some elephant tracks!
Then on to the class itself. The hosts are warm and friendly, the instruction is clear and easy to follow, and the food is nothing else but delicious and authentic.
(It is even better when you consider all of the produce is grown on site with all of that love I mentioned above.)
This was a great experience from start to finish. Highly recommended.

Wow! Book Yourself In! - My friend and I booked the cooking class after reading about it in the LP. I booked through Tripadvisor and was contacted by the owner shortly after booking. He arranged for a tuk tuk to collect us from our guest house and we were driven up into the hills near to the giant Buddha. We walked down some quite steep steps (those with limited mobility may have a few issues) to the family home. We were greeted warmly by the family and offered tea and some delicious rolled pancakes. The lesson then began. If I can even recreate half of what we made I will be thrilled! We were involved in all aspects of making all 13 delicious dishes and they were amazing to eat afterwards! Such a wonderful experience!

Cooking Class - Fantastic experience. We learned to cook and then ate around a dozen dishes in the family home. All the family were charming. Could not recommend a better way to spend an evening in Kandy.

Great cooking experience - Fantastic experience!
First to central market together to
Grocery shopping all the way between the locals. What a beautiful experience.
Then together with the family, at home, cooking delicious dishes!
We ate these ourselves afterwards: delicious.
So cozy with grandma sambal grinding in the kitchen. We enjoyed it: really worth it.

Really the best Kandy kitchen - Super nice experience at the cooking class - and what a taste! We made 10 curries, all with a special, very good taste! The family was lovely, welcoming us into their home! Would highly recommend!

An authentic and lovely experience - I attended an evening cooking class with this lovely family and can only recommend it! We were walked through every preparation step for coconut roti, sambol and 10 vegetable curries with great care and instructions in their kitchen and had a great meal of them afterwards. Don’t skip it, it is absolutely worth it!
