Treat yourself on a day with Lasantha - We found Lasantha the day before our two-night stay in Kandy. We booked through TripAdvisor and reached out to him via WhatsApp. Lasantha responded very quickly! He picked us up in the morning, took the time to understand what we had already done on our trip, and asked about our interests. Based on our conversation, he made slight adjustments to his itinerary, and the journey began.
We started with what turned out to be our favorite part of the trip: exploring the forests and mountains outside of Kandy. During visits to three temples, Lasantha shared fascinating information about the local birds, trees, and tea. When we arrived at the third temple, he asked if we wanted to go inside. Since we had already visited several temples, we politely declined. That’s when he said for the first time: “When you are happy, I am happy.” This set the tone for the rest of the day.
Our highlights included the tea factory, the large spice shop, the Temple of the Tooth, and the traditional cultural show. Next time, we would probably skip the gemstone museum.
Treat yourself to a day with Lasantha—Kandy isn’t the easiest city to navigate on your own, and his guidance made all the difference.

Kandy day tour with Lasantha!!! - We had a great day touring Kandy with Lasantha. He brought us to all the best places around the city and he knew all the information we needed to ensure we had an amazing experience. Lasantha is a great tuk tuk driver and navigates all the roads very well. A highlight for us was at the end of the Kandy dance show he got us to sit front row for the fire breathing finale. Lasantha was very flexible with pick up time and setting the itinerary to suit our needs.

Fun day in Kandy with a good driver - We've been out all day in and around Kandy. This was ideal for us because we had no idea how to fill our time in Kandy. We saw a lot and were given the freedom to fill out the program as desired. The driver is very friendly and patient and had good suggestions, also for lunch. Definitely recommended if you are in Kandy for a day!

Best one-day tour around Kandy for couples - Lasantha was a fantastic host and made our Kandy trip special. We started our tour late at 130pm as we just arrived to Kandy. He was very understanding and adjusted our schedule accordinglyby bringing us to key places to visit: a tea factory, spice garden and the kandy viewpoint. Initially, we thought it would be one of those tourist traps that and were fully prepared for it. Our fears were not justified- the tea factory and spice garden were both memorable experiences. We learnt about the intricate process of tea production (do you know that the plant has a machine from Korea that sorts the tea leaves by colour using an image recognition technology?) and the different types of Ayurvedic healing products (we even got the chance to cook our own Dahl), all for free, without feeling pressured to buy anything. Lasantha was always smiling and knew the places very well. In just 3 hours, we felt that we already knew Sri Lanka well. For the price of the tour, the experience surpassed our expectations and could probably rival other much more expensive tour packages. I would thoroughly recommend guests to come for the tour on the tuktuk. It was awesome!!!
