Kuldhara Abandoned Village - The intriguing history of Kuldhara has captivated many visitors, making it one of the most mysterious places to visit in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. The tale involves a beautiful daughter, a corrupt minister, frightened villagers, a nighttime exodus, and the unknown fate of the villagers. This isn’t a movie plot but the enigmatic legend of the abandoned village of Kuldhara, located about 18 km from Jaisalmer, deserted by its inhabitants in the 1800s.
Bada Bagh - Situated about 6 kilometers north of Jaisalmer, Bada Bagh, also known as Barabagh (meaning Big Garden), is a garden complex with chhatris or royal cenotaphs of the Maharajas of Jaisalmer, including Jai Singh II. The garden’s location offers stunning sunset views to visitors.
Jaisalmer Fort - Also known as Sonar Quila (Golden Fort), Jaisalmer Fort rises from the desert and blends with the golden sands. The setting sun adds a mystical aura to the fort. Built in the classic royal style by local craftsmen, this World Heritage site is a significant location in Satyajit Ray’s famous Feluda story and film, Sonar Kela (The Golden Fortress).
Kothari’s Patwaon-Ki-Haveli - One of the largest and most intricately carved havelis in Jaisalmer, this five-story structure stands proudly in a narrow street. Although it has lost some of its former glory, some paintings and mirror work art can still be seen on the interior walls.
Nathmal Ji Ki Haveli - Built in the 19th century by two architect brothers, Nathmal Ji Ki Haveli features a beautiful blend of symmetrical construction. The haveli is adorned with miniature style paintings and mighty tuskers carved from yellow sandstone.
Salim Singh-ki Haveli - Constructed in the first half of the 18th century, part of this haveli is still occupied by descendants of the original residents. The high arched roof is supported by carved brackets shaped like peacocks. Legend has it that two additional wooden stories once matched the height of the Maharaja’s palace, but they were ordered to be demolished.
Jain Temples - Located inside Jaisalmer Fort, these Jain Temples date back to the 12th and 15th centuries. Dedicated to Rikhabdevji and Shambhavdevji, famous Jain hermits known as ‘Tirthankars’ (wise teachers who taught people how to attain nirvana), the temples are carved from yellow sandstone and built in the renowned Dilwara style, known for its beautiful architecture.
Gadisar Lake - The Laser Water Show at Gadisar Lake is one of the first and largest Laser Water Shows, featuring water screen projection mapping using 25,000-lumen 3-chip DLP projectors.

Umaid Bhawan Palace Museum - Built by Maharaja Umaid Singh in 1929 to counter a famine, Umaid Bhawan Palace was also known as Chittar Palace during its construction due to the use of stones from Chittar hill. Designed by British architect HV Lanchester, the palace took 16 years to complete. Made of sandstone and marble, its architecture blends Indo-Saracenic, Classical Revival, and Western Art Deco styles. It is one of the largest private homes in the world and a spectacular building, being the only palace built in the 20th century.
Clock Tower Market - Ghanta Ghar, or the clock tower of Rajasthan, is located in the bustling Sadar Bazaar of Jodhpur. Constructed by Shri Sardar Singh Ji of Jodhpur, the Sadar Market is popular among tourists for Rajasthani textiles, clay figurines, miniature camels and elephants, marble inlay work, and classic silver jewelry.

Mehrangarh Fort - Rising 125 meters above Jodhpur’s skyline, Mehrangarh Fort is one of India’s most famous forts, rich in history and legends. The fort still bears cannonball imprints from Jaipur’s armies on its second gate. Known for its exquisite latticed windows, carved panels, and intricately decorated rooms like Moti Mahal, Phool Mahal, and Sheesh Mahal.
Jaswant Thada - This milky white memorial, built in the late 19th century in honor of Jaswant Singh, is a major tourist attraction. Jaswant Singh, who ruled Jodhpur, made significant contributions to the state, including reducing crime, subduing dacoits, building railways, and boosting Marwar’s economy. Managed by the Mehrangarh Museum Trust (MMT), Jaswant Thada is open to the public and features a museum displaying portraits of Marwar rulers. The grounds host morning concerts during music festivals like the Rajasthan International Folk Festival and the World Sacred Spirit Festival.
