Begin your trek at the traditional market and village of Sidemen, then ascend to the rice paddy fields, which have no defined steps. Head towards Mount Agung, following the irrigation path of the water source, and cross the hanging wooden bridge, suitable for both motorbikes and pedestrians.
As you trek, pass through the village and temple where local villagers come to pray. The journey involves ascending and descending streets, then walking through rice fields along the irrigation channels. Observe the locals working in their fields, engaging in activities such as plowing, cultivating, planting seeds, and harvesting.
The Sidemen Trekking tour is ideal for those eager to experience a diverse mix of plantations, people, and the everyday life of the local community.

A beautiful, relaxing, informative hike - It is a relatively affordable way to get a great tour around the Sidemen area. I felt that sometimes our guide was not able to answer some of my complicated agricultural questions, but he was a local to the area and seemed to know everyone we passed by so that made it totally worth it. He even gave us a ride home after the trek which was super generous! As someone who likes learning about farming and nature it was one of my highlights of Sidemen.

Peaceful Trek through a local plantation - Our Guide, Pak Daria is very knowledgeable, friendly, and explained the daily life of the local villagers day to day activities, highlighting that the farmers are the backbones of Bali in general. There are a lot of nice spots for a good photo opportunity. The trek is not that hard and took us around 3 hours. Do wear good shoes with good grips as some areas are very slippery.
I highly recommend this tour for those who are keen to take a peek of how the infamous “Bali Padi fields” work, from a POV perspective, and imagine what Bali was like, before the tourist frenzy.

The local guide was very... - The local guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. Learned a lot about Bali's local culture. The route is diverse and packed enough for just 2 hours. The rice paddies part was amazing in particular. Very wise choice

Wonderful walk around Sidemen sawa's and villages - We had a wonderful walk through the rice fields and villages of Sidemen. Our guide took us on an beautiful route and explained a lot about all the plants that we saw and about the irrigation system.
We really enjoyed seeing this beautiful side of Bali and learned a lot. Thank you for a great time!

Lovely walk - Great guide, he speaks english very well. He answered on all our questions. The tour is easy with lot of nice views. Need to be careful where you walk because some parts can ne slippery... We recommend!

An insight into local life - If you want to gain some insight into
How local Sideman people live then this is the tour for you. Our guide Daria lives in one of the 8 villages that make up the sideman area and takes you on a walk through the market and local farming area. Along the way you will learn about Balinese culture and religion which are entwined in everyday life. The walk is not for the elderly unless you are quite fit and agile - not because of energy levels and steepness but you need good balance to walk along very narrow rice paddy terraces and waterways. Daria was very knowledgable, we had lots of questions and he very accommodating. Highly recommend to broaden your knowledge and get a taste of Balinese culture.

Amazing local experience - Awesome time. Darya was an incredible tour guide, super knowledgeable about the local area and knew everyone in the village. He took us through super hidden paths through the farms and forest that showed us parts of Sidemen we definitely wouldn't have seen otherwise. 10/10 would recommend!
