• Inada Zenbo Sainenji Temple - Inada Gobo - Walk to Sainenji temple from Inada station. See giant Gyngo tree at the temple ground. Enter the main building of temple to see Amida Buddha and statures of SHINRAN and Eshinni (his wife).
• ISOKURA Sake Brewery - Since 1868, Isok ura Sake Brewery has brewed Japanese sake called “Inasato”. Guests can join the brewery tour and learn how to make sake using traditional methods with water coming from Inada granite stones and rice grown in Kasama. Guests can also try to taste various sake products at the shop.
• Inada Shrine - Inada Shrine is a historical shrine that was founded approximately 1,200 years ago and is the origin of the name of the Inada area. The enshrined deity is Princess Kushinada, who was married to Prince Susanoo according to Japanese myth. She is worshiped as a deity of matchmaking. Guests can see the worship hall and main shrine, which are made entirely of cypress. Inside the shrine ground surrounded by trees, guests can feel a sense of calm and comfort.

In the Inada area of Kasama city, you can experience and learn about traditional Japanese culture with my guidance. I will take you on a 3-hour walking tour to Inada Shrine, Sainenji Temple, and Isokura Sake Brewery.

Sainen-ji is a temple with historical significance, rooted in the “Inada no Souan” where SHINRAN, the founder of the Jodo Shinshu sect, resided for about 20 years during his missionary work in eastern Japan. The thatched-roof Sanmon gate, built in the 14th century, is a precious artifact that survived a fire. Inside the main hall, you can admire statues of Amida Buddha, SHINRAN, and his wife Eshinni. In front of the main hall stands an 800-year-old ginkgo tree, said to have been planted by SHINRAN himself.

Since 1868, Isokura Brewery has been producing the Japanese sake “Inasato” using local water and rice. During the tour, you can learn about traditional sake-making methods and enjoy sake tasting at the shop.
