This tour is world class. - Kalahari Tours provided one of many highlights of a recent round the world cruise, with 29 ports where I and friends (up to 46 of us) did tours with local operators. In each port I read scores of reviews, to find the best tour operator, and Kalahari Tours is the one in Chobe. King George the third of Botswana was our guide, and he was exemplary, in his tenth year. We were five friends, one of whom is in a wheelchair ... that was handled flawlessly and with grace. Both the boat safari and 4x4 safari in the afternoon were no problem at all for the chair. Our wheelchair riding friend sat in the chair on the boat, and in the front seat of the 4x4, with the chair riding along in the back, as she goes nowhere without it.
This tour is world class, and tt was a phenomenal day. Chobe National Park, via a boat safari in the morning, and a 4x4 safari after lunch. We saw hundreds of elephants, and a great many other animals, same for a great many birds, and King George knew them all. Special kudos for the fabulous food at the included lunch at their Coffee Buzz restaurant. That is the wonderful HQ of Kalahari Tours, where we also had coffee and a cappuccino muffin breakfast, which was also good. Our transfers from and to Victoria Falls were handled well, and both drivers served as guides for the journey.

An amazing Chobe safari which totally exceeded our expectations. - My daughter and I had an amazing day trip to Chobe National Park starting with a water safari and moving on to a jeep safari after a delicious lunch. We saw a lioness with her cubs after their giraffe kill, a separate Lioness hunting and drinking, antelope, buffalo, warthog, giraffe, crocodile, monitor lizard, a whole herd of elephants, hippo’s, monkeys and more. The staff were very knowledgable and gave us time to study the animals and take photos. It was definitely the highlight of our trip. A big thank you to our guides.

A safari worth making time for - Augustine our ever efficient Lodge manager suggested a trip into Lake Chobe in Botswana. So early to rise at 05:30, a quick squizz at the sunrise, a breakfast at 06:00 and our trusted chauffeur arrived to transport us across the Botswana border at 06:30am. 3 other tourists from Columbia and the UK joined our group and off we went on our adventure with Kalahari Tours. Firstly, we hopped on a small skiff of a boat and spent 4 hours traversing the expanse of Lake Chobe chasing down elephants, buffalo, hippo’s, impala and all kinds of birds from Egyptian geese to every kind of eagle. What a splendid morning. I must say I did envy the bigger boats every time we rattled in their wake of the waves they generated as they sped past us.
Neither the sunscreen, my sunglasses or my hat could minimise the glare reflecting off the water. It was a scorcher of a day in Botswana. Lunch was offered but not embraced. After a cold St Louis beer, the next phase of the adventure began. A 4 hour safari in an open game vehicle. The heat beat down on our heads but my prayers were answered and I saw in excess of 10 giraffe (gilaugh’s are my spirit animal) and as many elephants (heffalumps) as well as 2 lionesses with 3 cubs feeding on a fresh Impala kill. Nature has a way of being a buzz kill but hey that’s what we signed up for. Hot and bothered but completely at peace with our day we meandered over a new bridge opened in 2022 built by the Chinese that links Botswana and Zambia seamlessly after years of ferrying cars and trucks across the border into Zambia on pontoones. On arrival at Chundukwa Lodge, happy but defeated by the heat a nap was taken and then dinner. The pictures don’t do the day justice and after countless times, cursing my Apple iPhone camera, I have committed to getting a proper camera to record my many short lefts across the continents.

Memorable for sure - Leo did a great job getting us good angles of the animals during our Safari. The whole day was nicely organized and the food was delicious. Easy, chill, and memorable. Especially when we got close to the lion with an elephant foot in its mouth

Amazing trip to Chobe National Park from Livingstone - Fantastic tour- I would highly recommend. The lunch was divine and the crew were extremely helpful. Our guide (Freemby) was extremely knowledgeable and helped us a lot. His ability to spot animals and bird ( the variety of birds were just phenomenal) was a strong positive.
They partner with the Jolly Boys in Zambia and our Jolly Boys guide (Moyo) was one of the more knowledgeable and kind person I have ever met.
Chobe is amazing; the Kalahari team made the whole trip exceptional. We did the boat trip in the morning and the road safari in the afternoon. I would strongly recommend!
One note - Botswana is particular about rules. If you have a minor ( <18) with you, make sure you have the birth certificate of the minor and both parents on the trip.

Excellent day tour of Chobe National Park - We recently completed a tour of Chobe National Park from Victoria Falls. Chika, our guide, met us at the border and drove us to a small garden restaurant for a light breakfast. Chika then took us for a boat ride on the Chobe River, where we saw buffaloes, crocodiles, hippos, impalas, monitors, and more bird species than I think I’ve ever seen in my life.
We then returned to the restaurant for an excellent lunch if Botswanan steak before going on a game drive. Chika did an excellent job scouting the animals, and we were able to see a pride of lions testing under a tree and a herd of elephants, complete with a baby. We also visited a few waterholes where we saw baboons, warthogs, and kudus all drinking from the same pond. After the tour, Chika dropped us back at the border for our transfer back to Victoria Falls.
If you’re in the area, do not hesitate to take this tour. I’d recommend asking for Chika. His knowledge of the animals and their behavior is incredible, and it really adds to the experience.
