Kashgar Livestock Market - The Kashgar Livestock Market is an open-air agricultural market held only on Sundays. If your visit coincides with a Sunday, you can experience this unique market. It features a local atmosphere with Uyghur farmers trading animals such as sheep, yaks, goats, donkeys, cows, camels, and horses. The South and Central Asia Market is a regular commodity market offering a variety of goods. This market attracts over a hundred thousand visitors every Sunday from nearby towns and Central Asian countries. The guide will accompany you for a few hours at the market.
Abakh Hoja Tomb - This mausoleum is a prime example of Uyghur architecture in China, featuring a large 17-meter dome at the center, surrounded by four corner minarets adorned with stripes and arabesque floral patterns. Initially built in 1640, it is the resting place of five generations of relatives of the influential religious and political leader Apak Hoja.
Idkah Mosque - As the largest mosque in China and the 12th largest in the world, Idkah Mosque is a uniquely well-preserved Uyghur architectural marvel that can accommodate thousands of worshippers during prayer times.
Kashgar Old Town - This well-preserved Uyghur residential area is over a thousand years old. Settled over 1,100 years ago, it was a cultural and significant transportation hub on Central Asia’s Silk Road. Its unique medieval style has attracted Hollywood’s attention, with much of the film “Kite Runner” shot here. A walking tour through the old streets, with centuries-old tea houses, offers a wonderful experience in this historic Silk Road city.
