Great to see Meterorea and loved our guide Yannis - Overall, this was a good tour. However, at the beginning we had trouble meeting our driver. After confirming a number of times via email with Dimitra (dispatcher), we were to meet our driver at 8am at our cruise port and let her know that we would be on a cruise and not have internet the day before; however, when at port got a message from our driver that he will meet us at 830am, he did not know that we had agreed for 8am with Dimitra. With a number of WhatsApp chats and a half an hour later, we got it together and met Yannis R. our driver in a comfortable van for the 7 of us. He was great to talk with and had lots of information to share about Greece and the area we drove through; he also ensured that we had opportunities to use clean bathrooms at the Travel Stop Restaurant with Sotiris. Although it was an overcast day due to the Sahara dust, Yannis R. ensured that we had great opportunities to take pictures of Meterorea Monastery. Yannis R is a great driver and ensured our 2 families enjoyed ourselves. We explored the Skites area and met with a local guide named, Niki. She was a wealth of information but we had to have an abbreviated version of the Varrulum Monastery. Since time was now tight we did not have an opportunity to see a second monastery, I think that the 1/2 hour delay would have made the difference in seeing the other monastery. We made it through the Thessonaliki traffic and got to our cruise port in time. Yannis R. made our excursion of Meterorea informative and memorable.

Amazing! - Yannis (I apologize if I got the spelling wrong) was a fantastic driver and we learned so much from him. He was a very good driver and we always felt safe even on some bendy roads. Meteora was phenomenal!!! We were on a cruise and timelines were easily met. Such a memorable day! Highly recommend!

Unforgettable, Magical Experience! - An absolutely spectacular experience in every possible way! Yannis was the driver for me and my partner, but he was so much more than that! With exceptional English he told us extensively about the history of the area and the Monasteries, but also about Thessaloniki, and other surrounding areas, so we felt fully immersed in the culture of the region! He is better than most official tour guides while ostensibly being a driver!
He was also greatly entertaining and we laughed a lot, making the long drive zoom by (punctuated by stops at a lovely cafe on the way there and a meal in Kalabaka at the foot of the Monasteries before we left).
I have mobility issues, so Yannis took us to one monastery that has no steps, then showed us the viewing points for seeing the others from good angles. He was extremely accommodating and thoughtful, and was very helpful and patient!
The Monasteries themselves are just magical and this experience is well worth the long drive (especially since the vistas en route are also beautiful and often awe-inspiring, though much of it is flatland). They are so unique and the rock formations are so spectacular, there is little else like it!
And we are so happy that we booked this particular tour. It was expensive to go private but it gave us a lot of flexibility which with my leg issues is a big deal! We would definitely do it again! Don't think twice, just book it!

Magical Meteora visit with De Tours Transfers - We were delighted with the punctuality of the service, value for money, knowledge and experience of our guide Yiorgos.
We took the drive to Meteora via the scenic route recommended by Yiorgos and we were able to see the magnificent landscape and agricultural aspects of the region including the Pindus mountains, the olive and peach groves and the fields full of sunflowers.
On arrival at Meteora our driver took us to areas not witnessed by the majority of visitors which we found fascinating. The only downside was the number of visitors, mainly on coach trips, that made the monasteries slightly overcrowded but we visited during peak season. On return journey Thessaloniki we asked to visit Neraida and the lake of Polyfytou which we found utterly inspiring.
The convenience and comfort of the private tour made our experience extremely enjoyable. Our transfers to and from the airport were equally comfortable and arrived as booked.
We would not hesitate to recommend De Tours Transfers. Our very grateful thanks to Illias, Dimitra and Yiorgos for making this all possible.
