Salona’s historical significance is underscored by its elevation to the status of the Roman province of Dalmatia’s capital in 9 CE. Private Transfer to Dubrovnik with 1 stop on the way
Vid - After breakfast, enjoy a 1.5-hour ride to the hidden gem, Neretva Valley. Board a traditional boat called Ladja – small wooden boats, some of which are even 120 years old. They were used for transporting people and goods, but today they serve a touristic purpose. Enjoy an appetizer served in the boat while gliding down the little channels on the Norin River and taking in the natural beauty. After a photo safari, visit the Narona Archaeological Museum, the first on-site museum in Croatia and one of the few in the world. The museum is built directly on the ancient temple dedicated to Augustus, the first Roman emperor, in the modern city of Vid. Afterward, enjoy a traditional lunch in a local restaurant!
Dubrovnik City Tour & City Walls
Pile Gate - After breakfast, transfer to the old town of Dubrovnik (Pile Gate). Meet your local English-speaking guide at Dubrovnik’s main gate, Pile, to the old town of Dubrovnik – a UNESCO site. This tour lasts 2 hours. Throughout its tumultuous history, many nations and maritime forces met and battled in this area: the Byzantines, Saracens, Croats, Normans, Venetians, small princedoms and kingdoms, and the Austro-Hungarian state, as well as the Roman-Germanic Empire, Osman, Habsburg, and Napoleonic empires. Dubrovnik is well known as the pearl of the Adriatic, famous for its 2km long impressive city walls with fortresses, which have been filming locations for the highly popular HBO series “Game of Thrones.” Visit Dubrovnik city walls on your own, without a guide.
