Kathmandu - Your trek to Annapurna Base Camp begins in Kathmandu. After breakfast, you’ll set off for Pokhara on a luxury tourist bus. The journey offers scenic views of hills, the Trisuli and Marsyangdi Rivers, and possibly glimpses of Ganesh Himal and Manaslu peak.
Pokhara - After a 6-7 hour bus ride, you’ll arrive in Pokhara, a top tourist destination in Nepal known for its stunning landscape, vibrant atmosphere, and clean, green environment. Once there, you can explore the city or relax by the lakeside.
Drive to Nayapul (1070m / 3312 ft) and trek to Ghandruk (1940 m /6396 ft) (12km/7.4mi) 4-5 hrs, Tea House Accommodation
Ghandruk - After breakfast at your hotel, you’ll drive to Ghandruk, a 3-3.5 hour journey. Ghandruk, at 1940 meters, is a charming village primarily inhabited by the Gurung community. If time permits, visit the Gurung museum and experience the local culture, dance, and lifestyle. You’ll stay overnight in Ghandruk.
Trek to Chhomrong (2170 m/ 7118 ft) (9.7km/6.2mi) 5 – 6 hrs
Chhomrong - From Ghandruk, you’ll trek uphill for about an hour to Kimrungdanda, where you’ll enjoy stunning views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Fishtail Mountain (Machhapuchhre), and Gangapurna. After a steep descent to Kimrong Khola, you’ll face another steep ascent to Chere Danda, followed by a descent and a gentle walk to Chhomrong, a beautiful Gurung village at the base of the Annapurna massif. Today’s trek to Chhomrong (2170 meters) takes 5-6 hours.
Trek to Himalaya (2920 m / 9577 ft) (12km/7.4mi) (6-7 hrs)
Trek to Annapurna Base Camp (4,130 m / 13,546 ft) via Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3700 m / 12,136 ft) (12.5km/7.7mi) 5 hrs
Machhapuchhare Base Camp - An hour’s walk from Himalaya brings you to Deurali. You’ll then climb gently through a riverbed before a steep ascent to the mountainside of Bagar. The hike from Bagar to Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3700 meters) can be challenging, but offers excellent views of Machhapuchhre, Mt. Hiunchuli, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Annapurna III, Gandharva Chuli, and Gangapurna.
Annapurna Base Camp - From Machhapuchhre Base Camp, you’ll head to Annapurna Base Camp. The forested vegetation typical of the ABC trek disappears, and the trail widens. After 90 minutes to 2 hours of trekking from MBC, you’ll reach Annapurna Base Camp (4130 meters), where you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of the south face of Annapurna and other peaks.
Trek to Bamboo from Annapurna Base Camp (2310 m /7576 ft ) (14km/8.6mi) 7 – 8 hrs
Trek to Jhinu Danda (1780 m / 5838 ft) (8.5km/5.2mi) 5 – 6 hrs
Jhinu Danda - You’ll start with an uphill trek to Kuldighar, then descend to Chhomrong Khola. After an hour-long uphill trek through stone steps, you’ll reach Chhomrong, followed by a descent to Jhinu Danda, where you’ll spend the night. The trek to Jhinu Danda (1780 meters) takes 5-6 hours. Here, you can enjoy a hot spring bath, just a half-hour downhill trek away.
Trek to Naya Pul then drive to Pokhara (18km/11.1mi), 6 hrs trek, 1 hr drive
Naya Pul - On the way to Naya Pul from Jhinu Danda, you’ll enjoy the beautiful hilly landscape of the ACAP region. After a 4-5 hour hike along the Modi Khola, you’ll reach Birethanti, followed by a mostly flat trek to Nayapul, which takes another hour to 90 minutes.
Pokhara - A one-hour drive from Nayapul brings you back to Pokhara for an overnight stay.
Leisure day in Pokhara
Pokhara - Enjoy a leisure day in Pokhara, where you can explore on your own. Visit beautiful lakes like Phewa, Begnas, and Rupa, or try boating. You can also explore adventurous caves like Gupteshwor Mahadev, Bat Cave, and Mahendra Cave. Alternatively, relax and rest at your hotel.
Drive back to Kathmandu from Pokhara
Kathmandu - In the afternoon, you’ll take a scenic flight or bus ride back to Kathmandu, offering one last chance to view the mountains of the Annapurna Region. After arriving in Kathmandu, you’ll head to your hotel. Spend the day at leisure, shop for souvenirs, or explore any landmarks you missed earlier. In the evening, we’ll celebrate the successful completion of the ABC trek with a farewell dinner.
