Drive from Kathmandu to Besi Shahar

Besisahar, Lamjung - Travel to Besi Shahar using public transportation. The journey lasts approximately 4-5 hours, offering picturesque views of Nepal’s rural landscapes. Upon arrival in Besi Shahar, check into the hotel and enjoy a leisurely afternoon and evening.

Drive from Besi Shahar to Chame

Chame - After breakfast, drive from Besi Shahar to Chame. This 2-3 hour drive passes through Gurung and Magar villages, pine and rhododendron forests, and a roadside waterfall. Stop at Dharapani to register for trekking permits. Upon arrival in Chame in the afternoon, check into a trekking lodge, enjoy a home-cooked meal, and spend the night.

Trek from Chame to Pisang

Chame - On the 4th day of the Annapurna Circuit Trek, hike from Chame to Pisang. This 4-5 hour trek passes through apple orchards, rhododendron and conifer forests, and suspension bridges adorned with colorful prayer flags. Enjoy views of Paungda Danda, a unique flat-topped mountain. Arrive in Pisang in the afternoon and relax in the alpine charm of this delightful village.

Trek from Pisang to Manang

Manang - After breakfast, hike from Pisang to Manang. This 5-6 hour trek passes through beautiful evergreen forests, the villages of Humde and Braga, and the 900-year-old Braga monastery. Enjoy views of Gangapurna, Pisang Peak, and the Annapurnas, and possibly see some alpine lakes along the way. Arrive in Manang in the afternoon and stay at a trekking lodge.

Manang is one of the largest communities in the Annapurnas, making it an excellent place to explore and acclimatize to the altitude. Spend the next two nights in Manang, allowing ample time to relax, adjust to the environment, and enjoy the scenery.

Acclimatization Day at Manang

Manang - Spend the day in Manang to acclimate to the high altitude. Restock on supplies and savor local cuisine at the town’s restaurants. Consider a day hike to Gangapurna Lake or Kicho Tal, offering stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Return to the cozy lodge in Manang in the afternoon.

Trek from Manang to Yak Kharka

Yak Kharka - Hike from Manang to Yak Kharka. This 4-hour trek crosses several suspension bridges. Trekking at an altitude of around 4,000 meters requires a gentle pace to acclimatize. Arrive in Yak Kharka in the afternoon and stay in a teahouse. Yak Kharka is a quaint village with a bakery and charming teahouse accommodations!
